I'll be the first to answer, and 'no', I don't bake. Like you, baking makes the temptation of eating too great, so I avoid the latter by avoiding the former. March ushers in March Madness and St. Patrick's Day, so many of us should be smiling. You have to like one or the other, don't you? If not, there's always the Vernal Equinox on March 20th - the first day of spring, so there must be something about March that will bring a smile to your face.

I bake some form of cake/biscuit at least 3 days a week at school, for 150 children.

But I don't bake at home.

I enjoy limited baking; I make a mean mincemeat pie and pineapple upside-down cake, and I just finished putting a homemade lasagna in the oven. Spent the day yesterday making the tomato sauce from scratch. What wasn't for the lasagna will become a spaghetti sauce with homemade meatballs. I buy sweet Italian sausage, cube it, and pan-fry it along with some ground pork and hamburger. Can't forget the onions and green pepper!!

As if today we are on the end side of winter, not forgetting some of our worst snowstorms have come in March, but with the angle of the sun, the snow won't last!

Baking. I love to bake. Bread is my favourite thing. Whole wheat sandwich, hamburger rolls, challah, and soon I'll be making some hot cross buns. I've made fruit cake, orange cake, chocolate, pineapple, apple spice. You name it. I bake gluten-free stuff for some family members when needed. I love fruit pie, spinach pie, pecan...whatever. Lemon squares, oatmeal bars, apple crisp, peach crisp. Much of this is low sugar and whole grain, as my husband is diabetic and loves dessert. Baking is one of my happy things to do, along with writing, and knitting.

I used to bake meatloaf and sometimes a cake or two. But my son does a much better job, so he does that now, when I can persuade him to come over and bake for us.

We are all (I think) eager for Spring to arrive. But there is a treat on Tuesday morning a little after 6AM EST, a full eclipse of the moon by the Earth visible in the lower 48 states that will turn the moon the color red, this is because some light from the sun will leak around the Earth despite the moon being in shadow. Not only that but a extremely rare phenomenon called a selenelion ( or selenehelion) that occurs during a total lunar eclipse where the sun rises and the moon sets at the same time. If you're in a high enough location you will be able to turn toward the rising sun and turn around and see the setting moon.

When is this selenelion? 😮 Would being the equivalent height of Denver, but not right up against the Rockies like them be high enough? I mile above sea level. You will be cutting into my sleep. 4 AM to see an eclipse and dawn is at 6:43 in my neighbourhood.

I bake all the time. Four hundred cookies a week. I also do a pineapple upside-down cake, in a cast-iron to caramelize it before finishing it in the oven.

Baking is too easy though, I prefer cooking to baking. Baking is following the recipe, so easy and boring. I prefer to be creative.

I once dated a baker, but I had to break up with him. He was always trying to get a rise out of me.

Spring is my least favorite time of the year, I prefer fall, when we can start to wear all my cute coats and hats to hide my poor bald head.
