I understand Mark better now

Beware of what you access at work!

Employers can and often do use employee internet usage as an easy excuse to terminate workers and it is not easily appealed countered. To successfully protect yourself from charges of inappropriate internet usage is expensive as it requires expert testimony and the company is holding all the cards.

Often you are forced to defend yourself without even seeing what information that they had. Unions often don't want to get involved if pornography is alledged.

In one case that I'm aware of, an employee was terminated and he appealed. The sites that the employee charged were "pornographic or appealing to purient interests" were 365gay and the news side of badpuppy.com.

I think I'm changing career plans. Sounds like a sweet job. What university? Or do you keep your identity/location private?

edit: I just looked at it and realized I'd read about it at slashdot. The results of this survey are flawed for a few reasons. (I'm going to be paraphrasing here)

"Populations surveyed included AOL users, Salary.com Salary Wizard users and corporate human resource professionals" If you're visiting salary.com at work, it's probably because you're looking for a new job and aren't that keen on your current position. Therefore, it's a rather biased source. Also, due to the fact it's a web survey, you're not likely to get the sample who, you know, actually do their work?

Also, the information was reviewed by "Certified Compensation Professional's" at salary.com What are they? Who certifies them?

:P Why the University of Missouri, of course :P

Thanks, but I work at a university.  We're paid to think, not do, and just about anything can be panned off as research.  Slick deal eh?

I hope you're licensed to write with a Canadian accent, eh. :2hands:

Yes, that is a slick deal. No question. I can just see your published research now:

The Social Implications of a Web-Based Rainbow Cult

or

How to Intimidate Nice People Withour Really Trying

or

I Love Jellybeaners (but I just can't get them to accept me, boo-hoo)

:lmao:

Hugs,

Conner :boy:

In my defense, I wasn't worried about the accuracy, or even the source of the report. All I cared about was the fact that Missouri was first, and I couldn't resist the urge to poke at Mark (as it were).

As for a University gig, yea, they are great if you can get them. Can't you see Mark's poor students, unsure if he is hitting on them, the cute girl to their left, or the guy to their right (of course, Mark would go for the four-way).

Edit: A spell checker, a spell checker, my kingdom for a spell checker -- um, scratch that, i'll keep the kingdom, but I still want the spell checker.

Sarcasm? Wittiness? Insults with humor?

Excellent Conner, feel the power flowing through you

Anytime an opportunity presents itself to poke Mark...with my light sabre, it's going to be a good day. I get an extra allotment of jellybeans. :D

Everyone is drawn to the Back Side...uhhh, I mean Dark Side. That is the very nature of this insidious cosmic phenomenon. We of the Order of the Rainbow are no exception. I am tempted daily. It's not such a bad thing, 'cause then I get to rub my rainbow.

Hugs,
