PlugInMatty Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 This is a fairly simple idea from another forum I use... Post something good that happened today. It can be as personal or impersonal as you like. It can be vague or specific. It can be something that happened to you or something you read about in the news. Literally, it can be ANYTHING. I'll start: - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me just came on iTunes - Bumped into hot personal trainer at the gym - Had a five-minute conversation about British boy bands (in particular, East 17) with said personal trainer - Left with the impression that personal trainer is not as straight as he first seemed - Found out that I'd lost 15cm off my waist - Got put on the breathalyzer twice, passed both times - Finally took this week's hand-written Chapter notes and saved them on the computer - Watched an awesome game of Aussie Rules on the tv - This Mess We're In just came on iTunes - Watched the 'My Screw Up' episode of Scrubs, and cried. It was beautiful. - Caught up on a blog I'd been neglecting - Found the time to shave off the scraggly beard I'd been keeping for a couple of weeks - Realised it's only 10.30pm, and I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow. Now it's your turn. (Ironically, on the forum I'm stealing this idea from, the 'good things from today' thread is up to 20,680 posts. However, the 'bad things from today' thread has 24,689. Go figure.)
Kia Zi Shiru Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 good things of today - woke up without hangover - laundry is drying pretty fast because of the strong wind - installed atris on my laptop (unix tetris, with a couple of extra kinks) - been playing atris all day ^^
Nephylim Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Good things today. - Woke up in my friends' house after an absolutely fabulous night with not too bad a hangover. - Got to spend time with two amazing people, three incredible babies, two cats and three dogs - Had an amazingly good journey up to my brother's home - Played fantastic imagination games with my beautiful boy all the way in the car. - bumped into a very sexy man at the services - I AM AT MY BROTHER'S FOR A WHOLE WEEK. - saw my brother and his partner, four cats, two quail, and two chickens. (black speckled hens... legendary) - get to see quail eggs hatch WHAT A DAY!! :) 1

Pai-kun Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 - Woke up early, feeling rested! - Ate awesome food. - Went for a walk, and the weather was perfect. - Chilled in my bed, watching old Disney shorts with Donald Duck(I got a DVD box yesterday with the early Disney cartoons). It was awesome. - Watched the movie "I love you, man", and it too was awesome. - My iPod did as I wanted for once! - Redid the layout on my Twitter. And it didn't turn out awful! - Checked out how much I got paid this month, and liked what my internet bank showed me. - Right now I'm gonna watch more Donald Duck shorts until I fall asleep(it's two in the morning here, so I'll probably last for half an hour). Overall; Sweet day. 1

PlugInMatty Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 congrats john! - worked out at the gym for 2 hours - saw in the mirror that i was getting a slight sixpack under all the fat, made me very happy - now feeling very content and sleepy, think I'm gonna take a nap... I lobbed into the gym for an hour this morning, as well. Encountered this guy on the bench press whose grunting was so loud that I could hear him over my iPod. Shared a wry smile with a girl on the other side of the room, then smiled some more when she kept looking over at me and trying to make eye contact. Her name is Kelly, she was lovely. Other good things from today: - Had an afternoon nap in the sunshine - Ate a really nice steak for dinner - Wrote 1,000 words worth of dot points for Chapter Six of The Things You Fear The Most - Cut and pasted all other dot points into order, right out to the end of Chapter Nine - Read chapter sixteen of In Due Time, loved it - Had an actual conversation with the checkout chick at the supermarket - Bought jelly beans. - Mmm... jelly beans
Kia Zi Shiru Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 - took a nap for 2 hours - did more laudry, made the bed - realized that if anything went wrong in my life (aka no longer being together with my bf), I could actually manage on my own. - felt good about that realisation (even though I really don't wanna break up with him, but that was not the point )
Gay_In_Flanders Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 -Got my grandma to buy me a new coat/jacket and shoes ... YAY!
Aeroplane Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 - received a really pithy anecdote from our very own Drewbie... something to live by .. : when a guy is an ass and hot it doesn't matter anymore he's just an ass. Which I thought was great. - met a new and interesting guy today. Cute, in a rugged sort of way!
Drewbie Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Listening to some good podcasts watched some xmen eps. chatted with a few friends
Nephylim Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Spending the whole day with my son... he really is awesome.
Nephylim Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 :( A 'good' thing about today was being at my brother's house when I found out that one of my friends has committed suicide this morning. Not the best definition of 'good' but there is nowhere else I would rather be getting news like that. My brother is the most supportive person I know and the best friend anyone could ever have. After hearing news like that it is time to look at what is around you and truly appreciate what you have. I love you Jay. Thank you for being you. As well as Jay I have the most important person in the world close by... my son, and my daughter and her beautiful girlfriend at the end of a phone. I am truly blessed.
PlugInMatty Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 - survived my first bike class at the gym - did 25.7km in the process - bought a new iPod Touch today - just filled it with oodles of crap music - Michael Schumacher announced his return to Formula One, nearly creamed my pants when I heard - won basketball tonight, team is now 15-0 - had another great idea for chapters six/seven of TTYFTM

Arpeggio Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hmmm, good things. I woke up breathing. I woke up sober. My boyfriend loves me. I have friends who are wonderful. I am remotely attractive and young and a wonderful person. I have everything I could possibly want right now. Life is just so f**king good. ^^
Johnathan Colourfield Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 met up with a new friend thought about my bf alot i'm feeling quite happy with myself.. my friends parents described me as clever i'm in love madly.. and i want to slap lacey for being so happy
Guest JohnnyPoo Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I'm not sure if this one is 'good' but it is definitely one of the more memorable things to have occurred today; I dreamt about a guy during a nap. The guy to be exact. I haven't thought much about, much less dream about, him for a year or two now. Sure brought back a lotta memories, this nap. Woke up feeling better rested and thought provoked. Anyways, I watched some funny tv shows Ate some alright food That's about it, lazy day, really boring.
KJames Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) Good things from today... I woke up without aches and pains from sleeping wrong. My cat was lying on the pillow next to me purring as if his life depended on it. His sinuses were clear. (Thank God) Rob was sound asleep and snoring softly, relaxed enough to lay completely stretched out on his back which is rare. After three weeks of "life getting in the way" I was only up 1.4 pounds, and that includes my birthday dinner of Filet and Scampi, and a huge sundae with fudge topping for dessert. Facebook is helping me connect/reconnect with people from High School, and recent friends that I haven't been able to see lately. My friends think I'm wonderful. I think my friends are the greatest! My husband thinks I'm everything. I'm young and everything works! We have the very real possibility of becoming debt free within the next two to three years. Edited July 30, 2009 by kjames
