Tommy_B Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDEHQGF-V18 I am what I am I don't want praise I don't want pity I bang my own drum Some think it's noise I think it's pretty And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle Why not see things from a different angle Your life is a shamTill you can shout out I am what I am I am what I am And what I am needs no excuses I deal my own deck Sometimes the aces sometimes the deuces It's one life and there's no return and no deposit One life so it's time to open up your closet Life's not worth a damn till you can shout out I am what I am 1
Mari Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Mine changed constantly depending on my mood but Drops of Jupiter by Train is my fav 'cause I want to dance along the light of day and I want the wind to sweep me off my feet... sigh and depending on my mood Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman , when my theme is naughty or OH, from Moulin Rouge , the Diamonds are a girls best friend? or actually the whole soundtrack... Ewan , mmmm
Tomas Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The two pieces that I mentioned above have indeed been my theme as I meandered though this life, but that theme will change to a more suitable theme for that moment in time when... Listen to Beauty Do not stand at my grave and weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep
Bumblebee Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Painted by numbers - The Sounds ive listerned to it so many times that ive been banned from playing it at work and in the car
Phantom Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Okay here's the video to the theme song I said was mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNxctF0-BW8&feature=related There are so many times I'd love to twirl in a circle and do a wardrobe change
Former Member Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 As someone else said, it's changed over the years, what I've felt it to be...but the one which always remains is: "Soul for every Cowboy" by Big Head Todd and the Monsters, from their "Sister Sweetly" album. Excellent blues/rock band out of Colorado. Short set of lyrics says it all: "And a soul for every cowboy. And a star to guide him home. And an angel to bring him, A song to sing when he's alone. For the night is far from over And the storm is coming on. And the wind is blowing colder. And he's very far from home. When hell falls cold and wet. His heart soon forgets. That ever he was loved or wanted to be loved." Brilliant guitar solo, then repeat the whole. Good stuff.
Steve3 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hmmm. I guess I've always had "theme" songs with my partners. Jim is the longest-lasting, and the most rewarding. We both got our emotions tied up in a song many years ago that I would say is OUR theme song. Oleta Adams - Get Here Of course as all gay folk, we've all had our trials and tribulations. Probably 25-30 years ago, certainly not the best of times, but not the worst either, if I had a theme song, it surely would have been http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA6YXuagiuU Send in the Clowns - by the lady who made it REALLY famous. Of course, these are 'songs', as the thread indicated. These do not include Classical works that can basically heighten my emotions to the same levels as Love, Sex, etc.. Steve
Tipdin Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Oh gosh, my theme song definitely used to be Born To Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez. Today, however, it's Requiem....
phana14 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Oh gosh, my theme song definitely used to be Born To Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez. Today, however, it's Requiem.... Come on you! You are creeping me out here. After seeing the pictures that you have posted about yourself, I envision Mr Tipdin spending the next years remodeling and creating LIFE out of everything he sees! Do NOT disappoint me. So there! p

Forty-Two Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Often it is "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield. I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten Oh, oh, oh I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten Oh, yeah, yeah
Andrew Q Gordon Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Not sure I want to change my entry but I would like to add a second if I might. Always thought Social D was underrated and under loved - then again I always though Mike Ness was one hot badass - before Heroin almost ruined his life and career.
Steve3 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Oh gosh, my theme song definitely used to be Born To Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez. Today, however, it's Requiem.... Berlioz, or Brahms? Steve
Tomas Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) ...and would it matter? Although I think Mozart wins for being the most haunted and ugly sounding. Awwww. Nothing is ever so bad as it seems. You're near enough. Go take a slow stroll around Lake of the Isles with someone you really care about and bring your portable music listening device with Dvorak's New World, especially the 2nd movement or maybe Beethoven's 6th (Pastoral) and there is always Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2, especially the 2nd movement. Then relax, listen and drink in the beauty, if it still is as I remember it. Take care Edited September 2, 2010 by Tomas

Ramon Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I don't really know what my theme song is now, but for the last three or four years it was Demons by Guster. My words confuse you My eyes don't move or blink 'Cause it's easier sometimes Not to be sincere Somehow I make you believe Believe When I speak I cross my fingers Will you know you've been deceived? I find a need to be the demon A demon cannot be hurt Honest is easy Fiction's where genius lies 'Cause it's easier sometimes Not to be involved Somehow I make you believe Believe When I speak I cross my fingers Will you know you've been deceived? I find a need to be the demon A demon cannot be hurt When I speak I cross my fingers Will you know you've been deceived? I find a need to be the demon A demon cannot be hurt

I love every single song on that album, but It's Alright and Bittersweet are particular faves.
Objectivist Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Not to toot my own horn or anything....
Tiger Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) Evanescence "Bring Me to Life" Yes, it's emo. By the way PrivateTim, your song is like totally gay. Edited September 5, 2010 by Tiger
