Popular Post Zombie Posted November 6, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2013 Itsy Bitsy spider climbing up the spout Down came the rain and washed the spider out Out came the sun and dried up all the rain Now Itsy Bitsy spider went up the spout again! There once was a time when scary spiders lived in other countries, places like Australia and Brazil. Not any more. Just like us, spiders have learned about foreign travel. And now they live in places like ... Britain. Or anywhere with an airport And this is the time of year when spiders come indoors where it's nice and warm. Like into your home. Like under you bed. Or maybe in your hair at night, when you're sleeping. Or, if you sleep with you mouth open, inside you They may walk in through an open door, or climb in through a window. Or they may be hiding in that bunch of bananas you just bought from the supermarket ..."A mother of two and her family were forced to flee their home after dozens of the world's deadliest spiders hatched from a banana she was eating. Consi Taylor saw the spiders drop off the banana she was halfway through eating after she inspected strange white spots on the fruit's skin. The creatures fell on to her kitchen table before dozens of them started running off across the carpet."Brazillian Wandering Spiderhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2487042/Mother-finds-deadly-Brazilian-spiders-nest-banana.htmlOr lurking in your garden waiting to bite you ... "If you leave them alone ... there is no reason at all why they should attack you". Well that's reasuring - but how do we know spiders act all reasonable when they spot a biting opportunity?Tube Web Green Fanged Wall Spider - yes those fangs really are green, and they can bite through skin as easy as pie http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/10404819/False-widow-spider-Meet-the-incy-wincy-terror-whose-range-and-reputation-is-swelling.htmlOr nesting at your local school - and biting your children ...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-24623652And next time you go on holiday to some exotic location keep an eye open for Camel spiders - truly these are the stuff of nightmares Camel Spiders - they get bigger than this and they eat animals ... maybe people too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIeCS8k_Vyc Sweet dreams 9

Zombie Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Are you TRYING to create more arachnophobes? What, me?? *looks all innocent* :funny: 1
Ieshwar Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Is it weird that I actually want to hold them on my hand? There once was a time when scary spiders lived in other countries, places like Australia and Brazil. Not any more. Just like us, spiders have learned about foreign travel. And now they live in places like ... Britain. Or anywhere with an airport Actually, there's no deadly spiders here (Mauritius being a small island surrounded by sand and sea). Never head about any spider bite case anyway, never saw a big ugly spider. Just those harmless ones you find in closets. Maybe if I smuggled a few in... 3
Aditus Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Yuck! I always try to ignore my arachnophobia. *practices to vacuum lefthanded* 2
Suvitar Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Shouldn´t have looked at those pics, now I´ll have nightmares 1

TetRefine Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I once walked into my shed, only to walk face first into the web of a giant barn spider. The thing crawled all on my face before I finally flicked it off. I was 7, and I've hated spiders ever since. 2

Zombie Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Zombie I fucking love you okay Spiders are largely misunderstood creatures guys. They can also be really really cute, especially jumping spiders: Looks it's anime: And the peacock jumping spider which is just amazing: Thanks Fishie, that truly is amazing - I'd no idea this creature existed. But I'm not sure the words "spider" and "jumping" right next to each other are gonna make people sleep easy at night It's true that the more we understand things the better chance we can respond rationally - but for now, for most folks, this is the reality .... :funny: 1

Celethiel Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I have a live and let live policy with spiders...the only time they really bug me is if they get.... like right up to me, or share bath water with me... i have had more experiences with Spiders in the Tub than i care to remember I've also had a spider in my hair, once or twice... I've also woke up one morning and walked into the bathroom and walked into the web of a pinhead spider... or that's what my grandmother calls them... it was a fairly large Orb-Weaver Spider... to which i may add we had an investation of them living around the outside of our house... I KILLED THEM ALL!!!! the other day i saw what looked to be a jumping spider crawling cross the top of my computer screen (i left it alone)... it was kind of little cute and fuzzy... Slytherin you don't have spiders in Carebear land right? we're safe there right? RIGHT?!!! Spider movies don't freak me out like... say snake movies... 3
rustle Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 8-Legged Freaks is one of my favorite films! 1
