Popular Post Sasha Distan Posted December 5, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 5, 2013 Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95. Without being political, he was probably one of the greatest humanitarians the world was ever known, even though he was so mistreated by people. The world mourns a truly great man. 8

Site Administrator wildone Posted December 6, 2013 Site Administrator Posted December 6, 2013 Rest In Peace Mr. Mandela. You were loved by Canadians, and you loved Canada. The relationship was so strong, you became the first living honourary Canadian Citizen. May your legacy live on for generations. 4
Popular Post Daddydavek Posted December 6, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 6, 2013 He validated the great man theory of history. He proved one man can make a difference. He was a symbol for the whole world. 7
Popular Post rustle Posted December 6, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) I won't mourn his death, but celebrate a life well-lived. At 95, he had a hell of a run. Edited December 6, 2013 by rustle 6

Popular Post LJH Posted December 6, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) Siyabonga Tata Madiba. Lala ngoxolo.Sizohlala sekukhumbola.Thank you grandfather (Mandela). Rest in peace. You will always b remembered. Siyabonga. Thank you. Its a very emotional day here for all of us. Radio stations are playing Imagine by John Lennon one after the other. This song portrays the ideals that Madiba held high, so much so that we incarcerated him for 27 years. I say Hamba kahle Tata. Journey well, father. He earned the respect of the world by not losing hope. Like Jesus, in dying he restored our faith. Madiba has restored humanity in South Africa. He was so right when he said it is futile to think about what happened in the past. Never never and never again will this beautiful land suffer the oppression of its people. He lived for this ideal. He succeeded. One man made a difference. One man. To me, that is fantastic. In South Africa, Madiba is a statue, an icon, a road, a building, a park, he is in every one of our children, he is a hospital, a military base, a bench in a park, a bay, a city, a town, a country, but most of all, we are fortunate to have had him as one of our sons. I am blown away that the USA will be flying their flag at half staff. Just blown away. Edited December 6, 2013 by LJH 6
iSimba Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 This news exploded all over Twitter like nothing I've seen before. Rest in peace - you'll never be forgotten. 2
Rndmrunner Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 He will surely be remembered. Hopefully people will also continue to embody his values and his spirit. A great man has died but his work continues 1
Celethiel Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 no man can live forever.... Nelson certianly lived longer than many of his counterparts... his image and what he represents however can live for as long as people remember him.... Hell it can remain until there is nothing left of the memory of the real man, his faults, his loves, his lusts, his pain, and his regrets... only the legend. Nelson did become a legend, he and his earler life struggles came to symbolize South Africa especially to outsiders who never lived there... Nelson Mandella today equates to South Africa, just as much if not more-so than the earlier racial conflicts.... myself, I'd rather have known the man not the legend or the image... 1
Bill W Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 He was an amazing example of how you have choices in life. He could have been bitter and tried to seek vengence for being incarcerated for so long, but instead he forgave and moved on with his life. He alleviated the fears the white minority had that they would be forced to pay for their past. Instead, he united a nation. I salute this great man and may he rest in peace. 2
