[DomLuka] DD Chapter 34 - It's Up!

Recommended Posts

The whole Alice remarrying wasn't a big surprise, to me at least.

I think I understand Seth reaction, because that's basically how I would have acted. When the time comes for Rory to move, Seth will definetly have a reaction, but for now, I don't think he realises completly that Rory is leaving.

I personally think that Seth's blandness is good. After all of the mess Rory was in, having a steady, safe, calm, and nice boyfriend is exactly what he needed. It also shows that this story's main focus isn't about romantic relationships, but more about Rory coming to terms with his family. I'm definetly all for an SRITE...I'm somewhat of an LGAITE fan...maybe because of the sheer impossibility.

And Seth's overly calm response is a little... too calm. Real love isn't about understanding, it's about holding on 'til the wheels fall off and still trucking through it. I still want LRITE. Seth is just getting boring and I can't help feeling like maybe Dom wrote himself into a corner by making Seth so nice, and now is having trouble breaking it off "nicely."

YES! Exactly, he's getting boring. His "quirky" actions don't even seem to fit him. Like I could see Luke doing the phonenumber thing and being way sweeter. I don't know, Seth just doesn't interest me. Somehow his character just isn't as likable as Luke's. Just the fact that Luke is fighting for Rory to stay, it just makes a Rory/Luke pairing seem more fitting. You don't do that if it's just like a sibling, not the way Luke did it. If anything, the way Seth is taking it is how I woudl react to a sibling moving. I wouldn't like it, but I'd go out of my way to support/understand them.

Thanks Raz!!! This is exactly how I felt after reading the chapter. I think it's interesting that a number of people have really connected with Seth and there is an equal number who just don't "feel"it.

Dom has done a fantastic job with DD and while it's obviously getting to the end, I think it would be a struggle for even the great DomLuka to finish this off in one chapter in a way that befits such a great story.

Re WT you've got to wait a few chapters and try again. It is really too early to bring in a negative verdict.

I discovered GA and started lurking here around the time TOU began. I'd read everything else Dom had posted, so gave TOU a try. It was about three chapters long at that time, and I've never been too fond of serials (I'm impatient) and it didn't quite grab me. I didn't like Quinn too much in the beginning, because he reminds me a lot of, well, me at that age. So, I skipped the next chapter, and then was mainly offline until quite recently due to unexpected medical issues (resolved, now). Upon my return, I signed up so I could participate in the discussions, and was delighted to find many new chapters to DD.

I also noticed TOU was complete. So, I figured I'd give it a try. It was far different than I expected! I liked it a LOT more than I remembered, and now consider it one of my favorite stories.

So, what I'm attempting to say is that IMHO, giving a story another chance once it has a few more chapters is a great idea.

Strange CJ I had exactly the same experience with TLW. I started it on Nifty but for one reason or another abandoned it. Then I came across Dom's Home Page and was surprised to see that he was the author of TLW. I was almost going to abandon the site but thankfully I started into TOU and life has been different since. I went back to TLW and really loved it. DD has been wonderful and I have absolutely no doubt that WT will also be great.

Powerful chapter. Sniff.

Ok here's the sequel:

Aaron Keslin goes to Arizona State and meets Dennis Gordon...

Aaron Keslin to Arizona State? Not with his grades :P ...he doesn't apply himself like Cody does.

The only way Aaron would get into Arizona State is if he were to sleep with someone at Admissions & Records.

 OMG! That is something he would do  the little slut.

Not even Aaron would sleep with the freaks at Arizona State's Addmissions office ( I attended ASU, you know). Now, he could sleep with a few of the Profs there. While older there are several that are good looking. :)

I still say that what Rory needs is a good old fashioned three-way relationship. He needs Luke to goad him, to push him, and Seth to be the silent, supportive rock. Plus I really like the idea of reading a three way sex scene between all three of them.

(Long Sigh).......I knew it, I knew it, I knew it...Luke and Grandma Alice are simply having a lovers quarrel. Luke only has an attitude with her because he has a serious crush on her, and he's experiencing something new....hetero-sexual feelings. I think that the idea that she got married has him upset because he knows she cheated on him, and now he has to find the strength to forgive her so they can move foward.

As far as whether Rory's going to stay or go, I think it's obvious that he's going to get as far as the airport, where he'll change his mind and decide to stay because he won't want to leave Seth and Eddie and Jase behind. He'll decide to stay because he's in love with Seth and he can be out of the closet in Arizona. Of course, he could be out in Nevada if he wanted to be, but I doubt he'll actually come out to his friends there.

As far as when DD will actually end, I predict 3 more chapters, and I think the story's going to end after Luke stops the wedding and proffesses his love for Grandma Alice in front of everyone. They'll both give thier vows and live happily ever after.

So Rory needs two boy friends. Moreover, there has to be Eddy to house him, Jase to talk sense to him, GA to try to boss him around, Luke's friends to be nice, and, last but not least, his mother to look upon him from above, and all of them should pity him, if necessary. If it has been said that Aaron wants attentions, that's nothing compared to Rory's requirements.

Here I am downunder in Aussie getting up at 3.06 in the morning to check dd and wt and have had dd34 and wt3 this week. I wonder if Dom likes us loyal readers to suffer doubly with cliffhangers?

I love his stories and although I figured I would not get into either dd or wt at the start I am hooked.

Good on you Dom

Great Chapter Dom... Great Chapter.

Let's see what can i say that hasn't already been said....

I predict that DD will end at 37... and if it id true and you like numbers that are factors of five then i will say 40. The reason i think it will end at 37, is because next chapter finish up the week (35), the chapter after that tells of him going back to nevada to find that nothing is the same and that he has made a mistake and he returns to arizona (36) and finally in chapter 37 dom raps everything up by giveing everyone their happily ever afters.

But honestly, we all ahve to face the facts, the end is drawing nigh... Yes i know it burdens me with grief too.

Ok Prediction Time

1. We will find out i n the next chapter if rory stays or goes. I am almost positive that he will go back with his grandma and meet his step grandpa. He will return to school and see that his friends have moved on over the summer because they didn't think that he would be back. He will be miserable with out his best friend Luke there to tell him that he is doing good and comforting him. He will of course miss his beloved boyfriend. Also he will realize just how much he cares for Eddie and Jase, Thus resulting in Rory's return to Arizona.

2. I think Aaron will come back, so Dom will have to tie up the lose ends with him, that way we aren't left with a "That's All" thought.

3. I believe that if Dom knows how to play his cards (and believe me i think he does) he will not give Luke the happy ending of finding any one and there for possibly making a spin off all about Luke and his POV. About him finfing true love.

4. I also find that Dom will do some more detail to Seths character by making him trip out before Rory goes. Seth will freak out and beg Rory to stay... This will be the way that Seth will tell Rory that he loves him... Just like in the rest of Dom's stories, there is always a moment were Dom puts those three little words in for the first time and it gives you joy for the characters.

So... This was a long winded post... i just had all this stuff to get off my chest and voice my opinions. So as always... Thank you Dom for putting out another great chapter.

Hmm almost five days to go...

The old whore got married (two weeks counts as being a whore).

The little <i>hooligan</i>? Hmm, TLH... the little <i>hellion</i> perhaps?

Oddly enough, I don't really consider that to be much of a cliffhanger. I mean there's Eddie basically putting his heart out there, and then EVERYONE (including the whore) telling him that going or staying is completely up to him, EVERYONE begging him to stay, and he himself being incredibly depressed about leaving. He's done a lot of growing up this past summer, but he's still a f**king idiot.

I thought it was rather funny and typical of such a strong willed woman.

I spot, I want, I take.

I hope I'll still be like that when I'm older. Hell, being called a whore at 50 or 60 years sounds like kudos. ^^

But more seriously, you're a bit harsh to Alice. She's obviously not the kind of woman to care that much for decorum and she's experienced enough to know what she wants. Besides, I think that when you reach a certain age, it's stupid to wait too much. It's not like your whole life will depend on that union and you don't have THAT much time left to enjoy life.

Ok, I admit, I really like Alice. Sue me. ^^

My own prediction is that Grandma Alice is getting ready to redeem herself :o , by encouraging Rory to stay in Arizona, or at least encouraging him to see that he has options and ought to think about them.

She keeps telling him that her feelings won't be hurt if he stays and that everything has changed and is changing and that there is very little left of the past to go back to. That's about as subtle as Alice can get, and apparently too subtle for Rory. If Luke were in a more rational state, he could explain it to Rory. She's going to have to come out and say, "Rory, honey, you'll always have a major place in my heart, and you're always welcome in my home. (We'll figure out somewhere to put you.) But stay here. Visit me often. Eddie can afford the plane tickets."

Errrr, there are just So MANY ways of interpreting that sentence.....

I've been thinking that, too...

However, there is another story here on GA that, as of the last chapter, has an opening (due to starting over) for that kind of thing. It's all about a time-traveling kid, and he's just about to go back into his own past, and who knows, this time he might try a three-way with Trevor and Brandon... Or. who knows, a 4 way with Brian, too? Right after a baseball game?

Assuming they are both around 60 and white, they can easily expect ~20+ years together (using the 2002 life tables). That's a long time to be so flippant about it. 1/3 of the amount of life you've already lived...

That's longer than most people spend living at home with their parents.

Yep. But how many of those years are left without the need for substantial amounts of viagra ? XD

There's many reasons to get married very quickly but the best is still that both want it. And since it doesn't hurt anyone, why does it matter ?

*Hi, newbie here*

Well, I discovered Dom Luka very reciently *last monday* and I read DD in three days... and I love this chapter... but I don't want this story to end! I want Rory and Luke together, they're a better pairing! I think Seth is so nice and all but Luke is better, he really loves Rory and is passionate and is begging him to stay... *sigh* I wish Rory stays and ends going out with Luke... but I'm sure he has to go before to his old home to discover that, there. he's not himself anymore and things are better in Arizona.

I learned three things in that post.

1. Alice has a son

2. Alice's son is getting married

3. Alice's son is gay

Lmao, let me try and reinterpret that. Jarred(Alices fiance)'s son is gay, and if/when Luke and he meet, the romance music will cue in and the lucky bastard will get a nice tour of Lukes "downstairs". Then everyone will be happy except for Aaron, unless chey talks Seth's dogs into mounting the devient and defiling his already loose body...

Was I right??

Lol actually I seriously doubt that Jarred's son is gay. Why? Well let's see, DD already has at least six gay men. TOU had three plus one lesbian (or was Trina bi? can't remember). TLW had three (can't remember if we ever learned if Riley was gay or if Dennis was bi, read it way too long ago). It would be far to repetitive if this mystery 19-year-old was gay... but if he is, and he's hot, and he's as good as Seth (or better), I'll buy his plane ticket to New Jersey :2thumbs: . I need to get laid damnit!

I don't think Quinn and Jude ever said it. I kept waiting but I don't think they ever did :(

LOL well I think the list goes like this for gay people in TLW:

Owen

Aiden

Tony

Jake

Ben

Leo

Riley (he was outted at school, more or less admitted to being in love with Aiden, and much was made about how Adam was being nice to him, so I think it's safe to say he was gay).

So that's 7, plus however Dennis falls. I guess that is a large over-representation, but on the other hand you can look at it like Jake, Ben, and Leo aren't "coincedentally" gay, I mean they're friends/bf's with the other characters and presumably only met because they were gay. Like if I walk into a gay club and meet 7 guys, it's not really a "coincedence" if all 7 of them are gay. I think there's some sort of stat. which says the chances of one brother being gay increases a bit if another is gay, so that might reduce a little more of the "coincedence" factor. The big coincedences are that Owen's next door neighbour/crush (Aiden) is gay, and that the new kid at school (Riley) is gay.....the others Owen mostly knows because he's gay.
