Site Administrator Popular Post Cia Posted August 20, 2017 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted August 20, 2017 What sites do you use the most for technical or creative assistance when you write? Share them here so others can use them to! Here are some of mine (I might be a research geek, these are just a few of the many, many, many I have bookmarked): Grammar/Technical writing: 1. Chicago Manual of Style 2. Blue Book of Grammar 3. Purdue OWL 4. Grammar Girl 5. Writing.com 6. Writer's Digest (great newsletter!) Creative writing: 1. Writing Fix 2. Creative Writing Now 3. Scifi Writing Ideas - Writing Advice, also has fun Alien Name Generator 4. Encyclopedia of Science Fiction General Research: 1. Encyclopedia.com 2. World Map 3. Merriam-Webster Publishing: 1. Publisher's Weekly 2. There Are No Rules (blog by Writer's Digest) 3. BookEnds, LLC 2 7
Headstall Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I use a lot of those too. As well, I have many pages bookmarked that I have found helpful, and passed on to others. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of bookmarks when my previous computer died, but I am rebuilding. The ones on your list I haven't checked out yet, I now will. Thanks, Cia. 3

I've used these, but I did find it difficult to find things in the CMoS. The search feature didn't always point me to the bits I needed. 2
Laura S. Fox Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I don't know exactly if this is the right topic, but Writer's Digest has a big sale right now for titles on writing help. Writer's Digest Spring Sale It was hard for me to choose, so I just settle for one title, but seeing that I saved 12 bucks on a book I really wanted, I think some of the offers are a good deal. I just thought to share. 3
