That looks nice and healthy. Are you vegan or a vegetarian?

We love food here, you could provide the recipe if you're so inclined, drown!  :)

I apologize for being very metric. It is a very simple recipe 😂

Ingredients for way too many servings (roughly 6?):

  • Golden Millet (300g)
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 7 beef/beefsteak tomatoes
  • fresh parsley
  • olive oil (3 tbsp.)
  • balsamico (get good one)
  • salt&pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cook the golden millet, I just follow the instructions on the package, but cooking with double the amount of water for 20 minutes should be sufficient.
  2. Wash and cut into bite-sized pieces the cucumbers, tomatoes.
  3. Finely chop parsley, mix with olive oil.
  4. MIX EVERYTHING!
  5. Season with salt, pepper, add balsamico for taste.

Portion out for the week in containers and put in fridge :D

Note: I substituted the tomatoes for tiny snack tomatoes this time, same amount.

Yeah, but I'm a School Chef at the moment. I just cook for 300 hundred Children a day.

I get every weekend off work and I only work 200 days a year.

"just". lol. The feedback must be brutal.

If you had made a golden millet salad for them, there'd be riots on German news even.

300 children :o That's massive.

I just finished a batch of some sort of Tuscan Butter Chicken. I found the recipe on Instagram. I tweaked it a bit... just because. Lol. It looks and smells good and I did pilfer a bite of chicken in the process and it will make for good lunches this week with some rice.

Now it's off to pack some stuff and try to blindside my dog and drag him into the shower for a bath. Maybe lure him with a piece of chicken? 🤔

Cooking for kids is easy, just imagine Lasagne for 300 or Cottage Pie.

Zeke is a box of rocks. His picture is next to the definition of "dumb''.

He's cute though.

Then add a sprinkle of maple syrup 🇨🇦🍁 into the dressing! That's so expensive over here lol.

We make it here and it's expensive. But there's nothing quite like it, is there?  It's worth having in the house.

It was my go-to thing, a staple in my household, while I was living as a vegan. I dropped that when my life partner left me, and have rediscovered honey, eggs, and cheese. 😂

Still prefer (real Canadian) maple syrup over many other sweet additions.

I think we'll try your lovely salad. Cucumbers are not easy on a couple of us, but we could replace them with sweet peppers, I think. I'm happy with non-meat meals, but I live with a couple of Bears (polar and grizzly) who would eat it but would need meat on the side.

I was never a judgmental vegan. I understand the appeal of meat, and sometimes I even crave it. I have just grown out of it? For now…

Hell, I write werewolf stories… those people eat meat 😂, in my world at least in their wolf forms. Nature is way too complicated to be that restrictive.

I think we need all foods (good ones, not potato chips so much) and probably less meat. Michael, my Husband is diabetic so our diet is fairly low carb. (Except on Friday when I go out with our other husband, Dan. We'll usually have a donut and coffee while out...our treat of the week.)

Oh millet looks like couscous

I've seen this type of salad before.  I have not made it because I'm allergic to cucumber and I dislike the texture of uncooked tomatoes, but it's a popular summer salad here in the states
