Excuse me Good Sirs and DiC friends.

had a nice visitors show up at the house. It was the County Sheriff’s Department with a summons for me. it is for Grand Jury duty here in my county. They only meet 1 day a week for 3 months. Not sure if you know this but the Grand Jury hears all the evidence on a case and they decide if they should get a court date. The service is pretty laid back with jury sitting around a table and have the Police / Sheriff in front of you. Most of the trails are drug related once in a while you get an armed assault. Get a behind the scenes tour of the courthouse and the local jail. So it sounds interesting this starts the week of July 8.

So I hope everyone stays dry or cool.

Oh, that does sound interesting. I'd be up for that!

Recovery going well, just very tired. So resting, am on paracetamol for pain.

Next appointment in 3 weeks for stent removal ( should be pain free then ) and a scan in about 6 weeks to see if the surgery was successful.

You certainly had to wait a long time for surgery didn't you ? Hopefully you recover quickly and don't have to worry about any more pain.

That sounds very interesting, I'd definitely be willing to do that.

Recovery is going well, just very tired because of the painkillers whilst the stent settles.

Happy Sunday, everyone.

On this gray Sunday in June, Drown’s pen rests still,
Stories lie trapped, defying his will.
Yet hope lingers softly, a dream to reclaim,
For the words to break free and ignite like a flame.
Happy Sunday to all, may inspiration remain.

Because instead of rewriting a significant and important part of my upcoming chapter, I have:

  1. Written a poem.
  2. Watered my plants.
  3. Precooked some food for next week.
  4. Done laundry.
  5. Trimmed my eyebrows (don’t ask).
  6. Watched hours of idiots on YouTube failing to properly drive a car.

Help!

It happens, but writing a poem is writing. I have written nine books of them. It's writing, and it counts. The rest are necessary chores, and your brain puts them first—well, except for #6, which is just relaxation and fun—both of which are required in life.

Maybe that chapter doesn't require so much rewriting.

Thank you.

That really helps. 🧡

It's Monday... Gonna be a super hot week this week, so they tell us. We have a heat warning from Monday to Monday. So that'll be fun. Stay cool, drink lots of fluids. Don't do crazy things.
This week is also Pollinator Week... bee kind!

Also, an author has been PM'ing me daily for the last few days. Today was about following stories and authors, how many follow you or the story, and the number of views. I told him that doesn't matter much to me. It used to, but looking at my own behaviour and choices, I cannot fault others for theirs, so I stopped being so concerned about the numbers. If a poem gets 100 views, that is good enough for me. Today, I told him all of this and that life is too short to worry about it.. and then i found this about life being too short in my inbox:

image.png.e7441cd12602bb78a285140412d16292.png

Life is too short to worry, try not to.

I agree.

I think society has become too invested in numbers, especially those who grew up with social media.

It's not about the likes or the comment, it's about enjoying a story no matter how many people are following.

Stay cool and I hope everyone has a good day!

I look at numbers too much and agree I shouldn’t.

But what I really do appreciate is the comments, because it brings a human factor back in. Makes me feel like I am writing for someone, and not just for myself and into the void.

I crave human connection :f

Same weather forecast in the midwest USA (Ohio). I'm big on working in my garden (city lot, mostly flowers, Blooming bushes. potted vegetables. and a lot of garden art) and  have a "Bee Kind" sign in the front yard.  The weather has been so strange this past year. More rain this mild winter, and 30 inches less snow then normal. The perennial flowers and bushes have been blooming 3 to 4 weeks early this year. The planet warming, has thrown what was normal weather, out the window. I feel we have been very lucky, when I see the extreme weather that others are dealing with. Nothing is normal anymore, and I feel so sorry for the future generations. Sorry for the rant, but the world needs to take climate change serious,

You don't need to be sorry for sharing your feelings here. You're right, we need to stop while we can.. so much has changed in the last forty years.

It's been long time coming and we've ignored the signs. About 8 or 9 years ago I was with my work wife and we were getting in the car after eating lunch at a local restaurant. It was mid January and I noticed that the cherry blossom trees were starting to flower. Granted I'm in the southern US, but still, that's really early. It wasn't a one off event, they now start blooming in January. Everything that blooms seems to have moved up by a month or more. The dog days of summer that used to be in August now starts in June.  @Flip-Flop hit the nail on the head, and you're right that we need to stop while we still can.

Happy Tuesday to you, too, tim.

All you've got today is just fine on this rainy day. Fingers crossed the rain means it will not be too hot today.

There is no rain here, and none is in my forecast.  I did find out, however, that it is Picnic Day. Yay.  Maybe in the backyard at lunch. LOL  🥪

It rained here this morning, but the sun is out now,  so maybe it will still get hot. Time will tell.

A backyard lunch sounds like a splendid idea . 🙂
