Argh, I feel so out of my element! Get me out of here! I feel like I’m doing f*** all, too, which makes me feel really guilty. “Get me an AKG 480 microphone, please?” I literally have to google it so I know what it looks like and don’t have to look at all of them to find it. Give me dynamic mics for live work any day, these fragile condensers that literally cost thousands make me so nervous. What if I drop them? Aargh!

Happy Friday ...  @MacGreg Sir was mentioning  Happy Hour ... i would have loved a glass of sherry last night (i know, i know but i do like it) and so here is the word of the day.  Oh, and i'm not forgetting the ladies, our resident wino's @Reader1810 and @Defiance19 (I am not sure of the drinking habits of @Kitt, @CassieQ or @Starrynight22) or those of our girl-racer @mollyhousemouse .  I know @BHopper2 likes a wee drop as well.  I'm not sure about @Backwoods Boy or @Thorn Wilde either .. but i'm sure they'll let me know.. Anyway.. let's all have a drink later and toast ourselves and the season..

Thanks, tim. It’s cold in here, too, with so much equipment...

 

Dram is used in Nordic languages to mean a unit of strong alcohol. Especially in Norwegian, though not so much by younger people. Same as in Scotland; a wee dram.

 

EDIT: And I very much enjoy a good wine, a decent cocktail, or some single malt whisky.

Atop today's grocery list is eggnog. Back on the shelves after being absent for the past year. Tonight, I'll sit at the patio table to enjoy the evening, a dram of dark rum topped by the creamy concoction and a cigar will be the perfect start to the weekend. I'll have plenty if any of you want to stop by for a visit.

Wednesday, the temps were nice enough I went for a ride wearing low boots and my black leather jacket.  Stopped at a gay dive bar I visit now and then for lunch and the first comment out of the bartender was "Where are the chaps?" Maybe I'll wear them tonight along with 16" Wescos. How's that for a visual? Rum, cigars, and leather do go well together. LOL

Another one-syllable word - but I've given up on that project - too frustrating.  In general, I fall into the same category as @Reader1810 and @Defiance19.  About fifty drams with dinner will do nicely, thank you.  Unless I've been to my namesake brewpub (Backwoods Boy has multiple meanings) where my mug club membership nets me around 150 drams, permanently priced at $3.50.

This band is awesome. Jazz folk fusion. A trio featuring piano, drums, and accordion. The accordion works surprisingly well. Weird music, but very cool.

yeah that one syllable thing.. mmm, defo too frustrating ... not sure it would be something i'd want to read either ... like rhyming couplets and too much metre in a poem.. does my head in
