Popular Post Marty Posted May 14, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 14, 2020 Good morning, everyone! Although only about 10°C (50°F) at present, with a forecast high of around 13°C (55°F), today feels much more pleasant than the past few, probably due to the fact that it's sunnier, combined with very little wind. Hopefully you will all have a good day. I've had my second coffee, so now it's time for me to actually face the day! 1 4 2

Supposed to rain all afternoon. 6

Good afternoon, Gary. Felt really warm here at times today inside the walled garden. Especially when the clouds weren't obscuring the sun. Hope you don't get too much rain. We could almost do with some here in Ireland. But the problem is that, when it does start to rain here, it often forgets to stop, maybe for weeks or months on end. I've found several long lengths of hose pipe in the new, old place. On my shopping list for Monday, when the garden centre and hardware shops reopen, is hose connectors to join them together so that I can reach from the back of the house to the raised garden the other side of the old cottage. Of course, if we do get no rain, the County Council may put a hosepipe ban in place... 5 1

My biggest worry here is that I seldom see bread flour on the shelves. Seems people are bulk buying it, as there's often no flour of any description on the shelves, unless I go in very early in the morning. Fortunately I have enough to last me a few more months, that I had actually bought before the covid-19 scare. Flour is in short supply here as well. I haven't noticed any change in grocery costs locally. 4 3

The forecast is for increasingly warmer and more humid weather. It is beginning to get dry here. Lawn sprinklers are on in most yards, Mum's included. 3 3

The pup and I went for our usual early morning walk before breakfast. I started laying a stone path between Mum's and her neighbors. I had offered to do the labor as my gift to them this past Christmas. The pavers were delivered Tuesday morning and I rough placed them. This morning I started the process of setting them into the ground. I was able to complete about a quarter of them before the hot sunshine and my head conspired to force me to quit. A shower, some lunch and now relaxing to let the migraine ease. 7
