The older is Marion (Nathan's mom), then me, followed by Margot (red top), my brother (scratch nose) and Thomas (the baby). Ten years later, our aunt had my other 2 cousins Elsa and then Paul.

Spent the afternoon stress baking lot of crunchy waffles. I'll put them with a jar of my homemade jam in a wooden basket to make gift basket as Christmas presents for my grandma, great-aunt, uncle and aunt

I finally finished my mahogany countertop... it's beautiful. My son will love it, and it should last a lifetime.   I will wait for the glue to dry and then oil it. I'm exhausted, but pleased.

I feel a bit guilty to have to admit that I put the last chapter aside, and then forgot to get back to it. It's actually that long ago now, that I shall have to at least read the previous couple of chapters to remind myself fully of the storyline before reading the last one.

I'll do my best to do it over the xmas period, but please don't hold me to that. I'm finding it difficult to concentrate on reading these days. Largely due to the mental effects of the pandemic, and partly just due to the short days (S.A.D.).

My dad did some cleaning-up around the yard, this past summer. This included the removal of an old, dead tree on the edge of the property line. I stopped for a short visit, and I found a lovely piece of wood, which would have gone into the bonfire pit had I not saved it. As close as I can tell, it's a piece of Northern Ash, about 15 years old. It has been cut into 1/4-inch discs, sanded, and sealed with polyurethane. I also added some little felt pads on the underside, to prevent scratching. We now have a beautiful set of table coasters.
