As a good student I get online 15 minutes before the start, I start looking for the class file.. nothing. A zoom link? Nothing! Email from the professor? NOTHING! I ended up posting on the facebook group and was told the administration had just send an email (at 11.30am!) to our representatives students saying today's class is canceled! Sigh... I'm going back to bed I can't count how many times I have been frantically searching at the last minute for various Zoom links. Which reminds me... where's that link for the local Pride AGM I am supposed to be attending on Zoom this evening...? 7

Actually, not very far at all, so far. The Russian vine tends to twist it's stems around each other, and also around the ivy branches and few briars and brambles that have also grown in amongst it all. Which makes it impossible to just pull stems apart. Instead, I am having to just about cut through each individual stem with the secateurs one at a time; and also work my way through the tangle just a few inches at a time. Hard work but, as long as the weather stays reasonably dry, I'll keep at it until everything has been cleared. If you look carefully at the nearest gable wall of the first stone shed, you will see that it is leaning inwards at the top. The inner stonework has been damaged, and I reckon the top of it will collapse inwards as I remove the overgrowing branches (which I think are all that's stopped it from falling up till now). But... don't start worrying, gang. My name is Marty, not Gary, and I will take every possible safety precaution. You might even notice I'm using a proper metal ladder to reach the top of the boundary wall. No standing on chairs for me. It took years to grow into that tangle so it's likely to take a bit of time to undo. Any progress is still progress. 3 2

Have you found it? Yes, thanks! It only involved clicking through about four different online links that mentioned the meeting would be held over Zoom before I found the one that actually had the Zoom link. Hopefully all the two dozen or so people that have expressed (on Facebook) an interest in attending will find the link as well. I've just emailed the link to myself, anyway. Which means the organiser(s) will also likely email me the link later on today (probably 10 minutes before the meeting is due to start). 6
Popular Post Marty Posted January 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 11, 2021 It's currently raining here. It's not all that heavy, but definitely enough to put a temporary stop to my clearing of the vines and ivy on the garden sheds. Hopefully it will clear away as the day progresses but, in the meantime, it looks like I shall have to find some indoor work to occupy me. There's lots of that waiting to be done, anyway! Actually, before I do any of that, I may just take the car for a spin first. I've not used it for three or four days now, and I don't like leaving it standing idle for so long. Particularly in the winter. Hopefully it does actually start... 7

You have my sympathies... finding that right email can be a struggle... and the last minute link is frustrating to say the least 5 2

Alas, she had a tough, tough life, and was physically challenged at the end, but still produced some very emotional and evocative stuff, and obviously saw the beauty in words most authors do. I hope she is smiling, reading, and writing wherever she is. 7
