I'm just back from having my annual car inspection with the National Car Test Service. It failed, due to worn ball joints on the near-side (left hand side) front. Have already booked repairs with my garage man, to be done on 12th March. Have until 26th March to get it retested (or I'd have to pay for a full test again). Not too worried. I can drive it in the meantime, and I can book the retest online. The car's twelve years old, so I'm happy enough that it didn't fail because of multiple faults. 7

Popular Post clochette Posted February 25, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 25, 2021 I've spent a good part of the afternoon reading a book about soap making and the evening getting the hang of and playing with a soap calculator. It's so cool. Now I can't wait to try new recipes! 2 2 2

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted February 25, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted February 25, 2021 I've been busy getting ready for my BFF's visit I've also been dealing with house stuff. I'm waiting on a call back to make an appointment to get the corner by the sump pump fixed. I found a YouTube video of a good temporary fix while the conductor line thaws. One where I don't have to worry about the temporary line freezing. I bought a ten foot pipe this morning at Home Depot, thinking that would be a good fix, but I have something else that will work better I think. Driving home with it sticking out my car window was interesting... The temps got into the mid 50s today, which feels great, but means that there's a quick thaw. When the snow thaws too quickly, it means water in the basement. The sump pump has been going off every 3-4 minutes all day. Good thing I have a new one! I did some laundry earlier and it looks like I'll be needing a new washing machine soon. I swear, one more thing and I'm going to have a total breakdown I had another dental appointment this evening and everything still looks great. My next appointment isn't for another four months I've got chili cooking in the crockpot overnight and it already smells so good. I have a couple of errands to run tomorrow am, then my mom is going to help me with the new sump pump line, then a little house cleaning and I'll be ready for my BFF's visit 6

Site Administrator Valkyrie Posted February 25, 2021 Site Administrator Posted February 25, 2021 Good morning! I got up early and went grocery shopping, then had to go to two hardware stores to find what I need for the new sump pump jury-rig. I made chili in the crockpot overnight and OMG it smelled sooooooo goooooood all night. Now I'm going to roast some butternut squash to make some soup. The crockpot is getting a good workout lately lol I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm exhausted already and I still have a lot to do today before my friend arrives. She may just have to live with an unmopped kitchen floor lol 1 4
