Popular Post Bucket1 Posted July 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2021 I spoke to my sister about gooseberry pie and the fruit itself. Neither of us remember my grandmother making a gooseberry pie but clearly remember her enjoying the fruit itself. Does it require more fruit than other berries? They had a ginormous mulberry tree that was great to climb (and to pick fruit when ripe although we had old clothes for that). She made pies from that but never the gooseberries… 3 2 1

Can't recall her ever doing anything with the fruit. Of course the bush was so small I don't think she ever got more than a handful in any season. 5

Popular Post clochette Posted July 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Our president talked tonight. Due to variant 🔺️ and a rise of positive cases making us fear a 4th wave some decisions have been made: - all people working in medical and social fields (even the secretaries and cleaning crews) have until September 15th to get vaccinated. After that date they're exposing themselves to sanctions, still to be defined. - starting July 21st a sanitary pass (a certificate of full vaccination or a certificate of having been positive or a negative test) will be mandatory to access all cultural places open to 50 people or more. This will be extended to shopping malls, coffee shops, restaurants, visiting hospitals/nursing homes and long distance plane/train/bus travels. He made it clear that if by this autumn the number of vaccinated people and the number of positive cases haven't gone down enough and the 4th wave is hitting us then he isn't above taking tough decisions meaning making vaccination mandatory for all without exceptions or last resort another lockdown which would clearly be the fault of those refusing the vaccin. It seems to have had an effect as less than 30 minutes after the end of his speech the website to book a vaccin appointment had registered over 20 000 bookings! Edited July 12, 2021 by clochette 3 4
Popular Post dughlas Posted July 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2021 I just saw on the local news that a ride at the Cherry Festival in Traverse City almost had a tragic accident as it started wobbling and swaying while in operation but a number of bystanders rushed forward to hold the base down until the operator could safely stop it. 2 1 3
