Canada lost 55,000 lives to Spanish Flu

More than half a million Americans died

The ‘Spanish Flu’ pandemic killed an estimated 228,000 in the UK, making 1918 the first year on record in which deaths exceeded births.

So far, in the UK the total number of deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate is 152,856

(‘Spanish Flu’ is a misnomer. Spain’s neutrality during Word War One meant that its press was not subject to the same reporting restrictions, and so were among the first to report influenza cases, giving the impression it originated there.)

Watching the news... massive flooding in Belgium and Germany 103 deaths and over 1000 still missing people! It rained the equivalent of almost 4 months in a couple of days and the water came in waves in the streets. So sad

It was shocking

And look at the record high temperatures in the Arctic and parts of Siberia. Current indications are that the melting of the ice sheet on Greenland is increasing quite dramatically, and predictions are that if it all melted it would raise the sea level by around 6 metres (20 feet)... :/
