I was thinking of something more like Ungoliant. Even Morgoth was helpless against her wrath, after he betrayed her. Drewdo is terrified of spiders, so the literal Mother-of-all-spiders should put him in his place.

That’s a pretty good choice too Pagey.  And Tolkien seemed to be channeling a bit of Lovecraft with a lot of his First Age creatures.  Like the Balrogs, seriously what are those things.
