They're normally not allowed in the rooms upstairs, but I'm going to put food and a litter box in the smaller room so they have a 'safe place' to hide. That's a good idea. The movers are here now, so boyfriend and I have taken Tesla into the bedroom. We're all three of us on the bed. I'm editing and boyfriend's watching Star Trek Discovery on the iPad. Tesla is alarmed by all the noise out there, but she's settled down. 2 3

I think it was less than ten years ago that I read an article saying that describing and drawing the clitoris as a 'button' was totally ridiculous, because it was more like a rod, with the tip being like the head of a penis. I can't remember being taught anything like that in sex ed back in the 1970'ies. Yes it is. It's also a lot bigger than you'd think, with 'arms' reaching down along the inner labia and into the vagina. And they still don't teach this is sex ed... The clitoris is kind of a proto-penis. All foetuses start out 'female', with the clitoris turning into a penis later in the pregnancy. This is why when trans dudes take T the clitoris grows considerably. It can then be fashioned into a functioning penis through surgery, though it won't be very big. And the prostate is actually the equivalent of the uterus, if you'd believe that. It's all super interesting, I think. EDIT: I deeply apologise to anyone who's grossed out by this anatomy lesson, lol! Edited February 23, 2019 by Thorn Wilde 2 1 5

It's horrifying how many people, even people with vaginas, are woefully ignorant of how the female anatomy even works. There have been a couple of BuzzFeed pieces on this, I'll see if I can find them. Also: Afternoon, Marty! Hope you're well today. 8

To tell the truth I never even heard the word clitoris during sex education at school. Actually, thinking about it, there was no sex education at school. We just studied reproduction in biology. Learning how an amoeba splits in two has been really very important to the rest of my life... TNG used to be my favorite, but this new one 'goes where none has gone before.' I loved the focus on the Klingons in the first season. I understand them much better now. Never been a hug Trek fan (don't dislike it either, just never really got into it) but from what I've seen I think I'll really like Discovery once I try it out. 7
