Went to do to some shopping with Mom before lunch, just an hour but at least she went out of the house for a bit. 

 

I also went to order my new glasses and contacts... Turns out the mutual health only help to pay every 2 years so I'll have to beg them for a financial plan (don't let me start in the social security who only pay like 10€). Also The correction needed on my contact doesn't exist. It's too strong. I'm at -9.50 on the right and -9 on the left and they only go as far as -9. So the optician put both contacts at -9 but it means that in a year if my sight change again like it's been doing for the last 20 years I won't be able to wear contacts anymore.  And surgery isn't an option. Sigh... You think I can sell a kidney for a pair of eyes? 🤔

 

Bah I'll enjoy the dry afternoon in the garden

She's doing ok, she has a good spirits now that every is know and plan. The uncertainty and wait was the hardest for her. Though she's in a lot of pain due to the metastasis in 2 of her vertebraes and a bit in the muscles around the area. Her breathing is still a big complication too. At the house she has o2 so it helps but going out is complicated as like this morning after an hour she's out of breath and tired. She's got a great team of doctors and nurses. The coordinator nurse calls her at least once a week if she doesn't has hospital appointment. 

 

They removed the main tumor 2 weeks ago and the stitches this week. The surgeon said it was bigger than the little "button" we could feel with a lot of extension in the tissue around.

 

She had her first round of immunotherapy the 5th (it's 1 injection every 3 weeks) and doesn't seems to suffer of after effects so far. 

 

On Monday she'll start radiations to destroy the metastasis in her back. It'll be Monday to Friday for a total of 10 days. So far they're not talking about removing the others in her breast, bronchi, pleura and liver. 

 

So all in all it's yeah hard when you think of how it expended so quickly and the pain but she seems okay, ready to fight. She has friends, the kids she babysat and neighbors visiting, her siblings are calling every week and after every big appointments. We're living and enjoying one day at a time.

Yesterday was a tough day. I'm behind on reading @Timothy M.'s latest chapter, but I'll get to it when I'm in the right mood. I hope everyone has a wonderful day... it's a joy to watch Cookie and Sky greet each other each morning... they don't care about their differences... and Falkor and Cookie are now buddies...

Hello from Denmark to everyone, I'm finally feeling almost back to normal, and even getting some writing done.   Maybe I should take a look at those Anthology themes ?

I glad to hear she's coping so well and that her treatment is progressing. You, she and your family are in my prayers.

Hey, Val.  For us, it's going to be a day of repainting the half-bath on the main floor. We're covering the blue paint with a coat of white. The blue will still be visible, but it will show up as more of a pastel shade. Then, next weekend, we're going to have 4'0" of shiplap installed.

Once you do manage to get it out, you should check your barn for any holes or gaps where he might get in. Maybe create a border of rocks around the outer edges where the walls meet the ground. That will prevent any digging or burrowing.
