We like simple names here - it’s from Sydney, it builds a funnel web and is a spider  

And there is plenty of antivenin available all through New South Wales so no need to worry

Isn't anti-venom crazy expensive?  I know the prices of anti-venom for poisonous snakes can get very high here in the States.

Hi, Cassie... they have to milk the venom from snakes and spiders to make anti-venom... yechh...

Today I'll take advantage of my brother's muscles to reorganize the planting pots and cold frame around the garden 😉😎

He'sbeen going to the gym since the new year and keeps bragging he can lift over 100kg so we'll see. I won't let him spend his week of holiday sleeping and playing video games

I'm reminded of reading, sometime back in the 1960's, of some scientific research that involved the milking of mice to (if I remember correctly) develop a cure for some human disease or other. Apparently it was so difficult and time consuming to actually milk the mice that the milk itself was costing a small fortune. In one of the scientific journals that was discussing this research, someone wrote a poem based on Rabbie Burns' famous poem To a Mouse which went something along these lines:-

Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie, 
Art thou feelin' better now?
Thou shouldst gae an' have a feastie,
Thou art worth a mint o'er yon ould cow!
