I'm impartial. With Burns, the show was much more comical. After Burns, the show was more dramatic and realistic with its war theme. 

Charles, BJ, and Sherman were fantastic additions.

But frank was such a hateful bigot. Plus he dragged Hot Lips down. She was way more likable without him around. She cracked jokes, she showed more emotion

But it was so much fun to hate ol' Parrot Face! Hot Lips developed so much as a character when she realized she could be much more without Burns. 

Also, my favorite part of the show: Hawkeye's "I will not carry a gun" speech to Frank.

First off it was old ferret face

My favorite is when Charles reprimanded that sergeant for mockimg his stuttering private. Charles had compassion and a sense of humor that frank was devoid of. I hated when they killed off Colonel Blake.

Right right. Ferret. It's been a hot minute since I watched an episode. 

I love the story behind the shooting of Blake's death announcement. None of the actors knew the script, so the emotions captured were their own.

Hawkeye, klinger, and trapper were ticked off. Cher was so upset the cold open of her show the next night had a guy on a raft dressed like henry holding a sign saying im alive.
