Checked on my phone, then my laptop. Both have all parts of the site in this basic format, almost like an old-school HTML format. Visited several other sites, and this one's the only affected, so it's not my devices. Unsure if it's an issue on anyone else's end, but I'll post this here with a screenshot. 1404876902_Screenshot2022-08-077_09_24PM.thumb.png.fa6309e8f2ee9c1d7decf1c1679dccae.png

Devices used: ASUS Chromebook, Samsung Galaxy A-series phone.

Looks like it was a system cache issue from a software update...

is it working now?

I had the same issue.  All browsers on an HP laptop with Windows 10.  It's resolved now.

All good! Everything's back to normal.

The basic format's back, but it seems to just be the main stories and authors page (when I click on them in the red banner). Main forums page is unaffected.

Edit: it's affecting the home page (the actual one, not the forums), and anything involving a story archive (either the main one, or any author's), the authors archives (the one that lists all of the authors), and any member's profile (mine, as well as others).

Edit#2: All of stories is affected.

Sorry, just laughed my a$$ off for a minute. Can't believe I missed this...

Uhh... @Valkyrie. You've been demoted.

I'm sure it's another cache issue, but I couldn't help but point it out. The Purple Promising Authors are pushing past the Signature Authors!!!

Funny, I just started a new topic on this because I didn’t see your question,@astone2292

Hopefully, if I log back in tomorrow night everything will be fixed?

That's the hope. It just happened earlier in the evening (6pm -ish here in Kentucky), but there should be a fix in the morning (can't speak for the admins, just keeping the positive vibes going!)

Even in this basic format (not the new standard theme/format. Myr has more class than that...), you should still be able to read the story you're following, albeit a little more difficult to navigate. Not confident in the ability to leave reactions though.

Thank you, I noticed it as well. I wonder if the site had to "reset" somehow? Alas, my tech skills are not up to par with that, so I'm glad it appears to all be working now!

I may be a wee bit sleep deprived, but now we're getting a bit goofy. Mobile's acting kinda funky.

What I'm seeing is double avatars, side by side and the sign in information is centered in the banner.

I'm using an HP desktop and the Edge browser, latest version.

Now that I've posted, things are back to normal with the exception of sign in section.

Are people still seeing this somewhere?

I am not able to reproduce currently.

Yes I'm got the issue that @TalonRidermentioned above! I may try logging out and back in again to see if that helps.

@MyrWell that didn't make any difference! I'm on Firefox v103.0.1.

This is what we're seeing on mobile. I'm on Edge, and Howzat is Firefox so that's evidence it's not just a single browser.

Still having the same issue as my last thread post, but I'm on mobile. Desktop (on Chrome) is perfect.

Mobile (Chrome) looks different in multiple ways. Forums are a mess, but this is the most interesting. I think the top bar has potential.

Edit: adding more fun info. Samsung's crappy Internet app also acts a mess.

I agree. Getting strange configurations with Chrome on mobile (Android) while the desktop version is fine. Not adding screen grabs as there seem to be plenty.

Safari browser on iPad works fine. PC using latest Chrome and I'm still seeing double avatars in various posts. But Chrome has been acting weird for this site over the last couple of updates -- I occasionally get a black page stating the GA's site is not secure and asks if I want to continue to the site. The lock is ahead of the site address, so I don't know what's going on there either.

@Myr @Cia

Whatever was wrong now appears to have been resolved as everything is appearing normally once again.

I've actually climbed a few ranks :P  I noticed it a while ago, but thought maybe @Myr tweaked the requirements.  I used to be at 10, I think.

Hmmm.  I am hoping that another software patch corrects the issue for good instead of the issues we've had sporadically throughout the day.
