Back in the 80's I think, SCTV was a show that started out in Edmonton, AB at an independant TV station. Greats like Eugene Levy, John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Andrea Martin, and so on. 

They were also a pioneer in 3D television, never seen outside of movie theatres before.
