I'm so confused by Daithi's review. lol I feel like I have to re-read the chapter again. Who is this other guy she's talking about? I thought there was only Eli there, the security guard, using the internet b/c it's down in his house. I was thinking that he just walked quietly up to Noah and was being nosy, reading Noah's sheet of paper. Or maybe Noah's two crazy employees told Eli what was going on and that's why he's there with Noah. Oi, at any rate, I'm on to the next chapter.

I'm glad Noah has his employees looking out for him. lol And damn, grow a pair and get your parking spot back!!!

I've been meaning to read this so I'm glad you just updated. =) This story hits so close to home, just add it some kids, a dog...lol I'm looking forward to reading about Noah's plan. I sure hope it works. And he's only forty-one, that's not bad, he's not old. He'll be fine. Hopefully he'll find someone much better than that scumbag Derek.

I'm glad Danny sort of changed his mind about Cayden and what kind of relationship he wants from him. I think once Brian is put to rest (so to speak), Danny will feel better about Cayden. It won't be all of a sudden though. I'm sure even though Danny knows Brian isn't "there" anymore, pulling the plug will finalize it, as I think I mentioned in a previous review. Danny may go through the mourning process all over again and feel guilty about Cayden. He'll feel like he's moving on with his life too soon after Brian. I just hope he doesn't push Cayden away. I really like Cayden and I can tell Cayden really likes Danny. Great chapter, Cole and hey, I only cried a few times reading it! lol That's an improvement! haha

The shit is going to hit the proverbial fan in the next chapter! Omg, I would NOT want to be Andy or Matt anytime soon. Of course Matt is going to feel much worse than Andy, b/c Matt has never lied to Andy's parents before and now he's lying to everyone. One of the consequences of sex when young people are concerned, I suppose. Damn, I feel sorry for these two now.

Shit, I'm trying to think who it could be. Someone from Jean's past? We haven't heard from Jean, Henry and the gang in awhile. Someone that has to do with one of them? Hmmm, I'm gonna keep thinking. I love Oliver's parents! They are terrific. They are so understanding and Oliver is so lucky that they are so supportive of him. I can see why Oscar was so jealous; his parents (especially his father), would NEVER be supportive of something like that. Oliver's parents should just adopt him. I wonder if Oscar's parents even know where he is...

We just got an early holiday present from this update! I'm glad I didn't have to wait until Wednesday. =) Along with tasting like an ashtray and smelling like one, now Danny's apartment is going to smell, especially his closet, where Cayden put his coat and shut the door. I have such a hatred for cigarettes, I'm sorry. Both my parents died from smoking and my sister and I were surrounded by it. Every time I went over anyone's house, they thought I was the one smoking! I smelled like cigarettes since the day I was born. So yeah, I wouldn't even go out with anyone who smoked. lol So kudos to Danny, since he faced this all with Brian. Maybe he can get Cayden to quit also. And yes, the holidays really suck when you've lost a loved one. But it's not only losing someone to death. The feelings of loss are there when a marriage falls apart and all your festive occasions that you spent with in-laws are now gone and everything you had before is now gone. I think at some point in all our lives, we need a Cayden of our own to help us get thru the hard times.

I agree with both the reviewers, but especially Suvitar. It's practical and Jackie is really sweet to make this offer to Mark, but as Suvitar said, she's a meddler and Mark wouldn't want her meddling in his work, or school, or whatever he decides to do. Then on the other hand, it would be nice not having to pay rent and utilities. He could make it up to Jackie by babysitting, and cleaning a bit here and there. He'd also be right with family for those lonely days that are sure to come once Trey is deployed. I'm not sure if putting off school for a year is a good idea. I know a lot of people say they'll go to work for year and then go back to school, but sometimes that never happens. So many possibilities, Renee - I look forward to reading more.

Hmm, so much to comment on. The whole thing about parents' feeling betrayed and there's no return on their investment if their child is gay is complete bullshit. IMHO. Why on earth would a parent feel betrayed? I never understood why people think that just b/c someone is gay, they can't have children. I don't get it. Look at NPH, look at Matt Bomer, look at Melissa, look at Rosie...and those are just off the top of my head. Granted, some of these kids may night be biological, but gay people can have biological children also. Why are people so focused on that? Why would a parent feel betrayed over something their child has no control over? I just don't get it. If one of my kids were gay, I'd just be so happy for them. As long as they're happy, I'm happy. I could give a rat's ass about biological grandchildren. Being a parent is in your heart, not necessarily your DNA. Does that make sense? If they wanted to adopt, that would be wonderful; there are so many unwanted children in this world. Adoption is a wonderful thing. I'm sort of on the fence about David not coming out to Dan. I could see how David wouldn't know how to bring it up when Dan came out to David, Jenna, and Chris. After all, he was still with Jenna. Oh, by Jenna's comment on them, I'm figuring that David came out to her and that's why they broke up. Was that it? She didn't seem surprised at all when she saw them together. I have read stories where two friends are gay but when one comes out to the other, the other person isn't ready. I could see that happening also. Everyone is different. Everyone needs to come out in their own time, their own way. I gotta say though, I am so proud of Dan for coming out to his parents, but more than that, I'm so proud of his parents for treating it as a non-issue. I really thought that they would give Dan a hard time about it, b/c of what is "preached" at that church they go to. I did have to laugh at the joke his father made. That was so unlike him. lol

Well, you have an interesting story there, Barricade. That's the good part. The not-so-good part is that it does have a few errors - I won't go into all of them here; you can PM me if you want. I will say the one recurring error that drove me nuts was 'he's' instead of 'his'. His car, his book, his room. Not he's. He's is a contraction meaning he is. There was one point in the chapter when Connor woke up from his nightmare. Toby was saying it was about 3 a.m. when Connor woke up from the nightmare. When Connor wanted to go home, Toby said, "You can't go home, It's midnight!" Wait, I thought it was three in the morning? The last crit I'll say is that when you have dialogue, each character's dialogue must be on a separate line, not on the same line, otherwise readers won't know who is saying what. Ok, on to chapter two! And don't take the criticism badly; I'm just trying to help.

"I lub you." That was so cute. =) I agree totally w/Daddy; Adam isn't going to confess love (if he does feel it), to Mikeal when Mikeal is about to pass out from too much booze. Where's the romance in that? lol I lubbed (was gonna write lubed, but that wasn't quite what I meant! lol), this chapter, Cassie! Adam was really trying to take care of Mikeal. I think he really, really cares for him. He didn't try to take advantage of him when he was drunk and he was even trying to prevent him from becoming drunk! I did have a question though: whatever happened to Julie? I thought she'd be pissed at them leaving her. Even though she was walking around, they left her for quite a long time when they went upstairs and then was she with them when they had dinner and went to that anime show? Well, shit. Wow, boy was I wrong. Brian's in a coma that's why he's not responding to Danny telling him about Cayden. Poor Danny. So this accident happened eight months ago and Brian's still in the hospital hooked up to machines? Do hospitals put time limits on patients in comas? I mean, can he stay there indefinitely? Although I gather from the end of the chapter that Danny has finally decided to let go and let Brian go in peace. That must be one of the hardest things to do: disconnect a husband/wife, etc. from life support. Now, as long as Brian is hooked up to the machines keeping his body alive, there is always hope, even if it is slim, that he will wake up one day. Once Danny pulls the plug, it's final. I think psychologically, keeping him hooked up to the machines sort of helps Danny cope with what's happened. He knows deep inside that the Brian he knew and loved is gone, but once he pulls that plug, it's really over. You can say to yourself a million times that you've prepared yourself for doing this and what it entails, but it really doesn't make it any easier. It doesn't make saying goodbye any easier. So I guess psychologically, putting off the inevitable is much easier to deal with because really, he doesn't want to say goodbye. Now I'm depressed. Let me think of the fun things in the chapter: I laughed when Danny was thinking back to his and Brian's relationship and how Brian used to flirt with everyone. "...I tease and joke with guys because I have to. It's what I was made to do." Wow, that's pretty arrogant. lol I liked when you described Danny's eyes as looking like the waters on a lake when a storm hit. Those lines were really beautiful. I'm glad Cayden was there for Danny. I'm sure he was disappointed he didn't see Danny for the rest of the day though. What a terrific story, Cole. Not to rush the days and weeks, but I'm really looking forward to next Wednesday now. =)

Damn straight, Ma's gonna flip her shit seeing Aaron's eye! lol I'm glad Aaron realized that he was probably going to make things worse by running over to Slade's house. I just can't believe Slade's mother can't grow a pair and tell her fucking husband to get the fuck over it already! She's just gonna let him control the whole household? Amazing. Well, at least Andy now knows that Randy's an ass. My mouth was hanging open when Andy's dad saw the condom! Thank God it wasn't used! lol I wonder if he believes Andy though.
