Part IV: The Surface Tension
drsawzall commented on Cap's story chapter in Part IV: The Surface Tension
Oh my goodness, looks like quite the shitestorm…. -
The die is cast, choices confirmed. What the French fail to understand is that Thornmere is a bigger bite that they are prepared for. The keep holds secrets and men of honor who are fighting, not only for their families, but all who make Thornmere what it is. Will Louis fight a war of attrition and delay, or chose to come back another day? Will he find new resolve in the countryside and his path slowed and bloody? his troops are tired from the pace of the advance, and tired soldiers make mistakes…perhaps there’s room in the fens for them!

Chapter Four - Unimagined.
drsawzall commented on William King's story chapter in Chapter Four - Unimagined.
Unbelievable “So tell me what happened to you. Cos, you know Matty, you don’t hide stuff too well. And it’s killing me. All this not knowing. I didn't imagine it like this.” He kicked at the ground. “I didn’t fucking imagine it like this either. I didn’t fucking imagine getting beat up. Getting my whole life screwed. By my fucking parents.” -
Such a wide variety of fantastic stories!!!

Tell us how you truly feel 😉I also find the woman, and I am being generous, truly detestable, and decpicable human being... I couldn't agree with you more. Sinatra was at best a 3rd rate singer. If it weren't for the mob, he'd be nothing but a lounge singer in Weehawken NJ.

So, the die is cast, or so it seems... “Where?” Rusne demanded. “Kaer Maga, naturally. We’ll resupply there, then head into the Cinderlands. Should give us a headstart on the Red Mantis that’ll be coming after us,” Arlo explained casually. Ceta froze midbite. “People coming after us?” he whispered. “Yeah. Queen’s trying to get us out of Korvosa so we can be murdered without becoming martyrs,” Arlo added. He held up his letter. “Ten to one she’s hedged her bets and this letter declares us enemies of the Shoanti, so they’ll attack us before marching on the city itself. She hasn’t exactly been generous to her people so far.” What does the lich get when the sword is destroyed, and Arlo has the crown???

You little weasel... "I can't believe you made reservations here," I said as soon as we were alone. Asher smiled. "I wanted tonight to be special. Who knows? This could be the last time I get to take you out. I wanted to do it right." My breath caught in my throat. I didn't know what to say. ************************************** "You know what they say about finding Mr. Right." He dropped his fork and looked into my eyes. "Exactly. None of them were right, because they weren't you." "Asher—" "No, listen to me. I tried to get over you. I tried to get you out of my head, but I can't do it. You're too much a part of me." ***************************************** Some bitter truth here..... He sighed and slumped against the wall. "There's nothing to talk about, Killian. I'm not even angry at you. I'm angry at myself because I let this drag on so long when it was obvious from the start that you weren't ready. We're at different places in our lives. I mean, I guess on some level I've known that for a while now. #TeamJacy

Saturday, June 28, 2025 (III)
drsawzall commented on Celian's story chapter in Saturday, June 28, 2025 (III)
I, too, think Kellen's magic is struggling to come out...we might get more of an idea of this during the ceremony... And then his magic was gone. Temporarily, as they said, as everyone still claimed. As he himself said, hoping it were true. But now he was forty-one, and since the Marshall Program only appointed anyone over forty in rare, exceptional cases, his dream was gone, magic or no magic. The navigation system said something; his subconscious registered it and made him act on it, but suddenly his chest tightened. As if someone were squeezing his lungs, he couldn’t breathe in, felt the rising tension in the rest of his body, a stabbing pain—and then everything was fine again. Taking a deep breath, he raised his hand for a moment to rub the spot that had just hurt, to the right of his sternum. “Are you okay?” Nora asked. “I’m fine.” He gave a brief nod and then asked, out of politeness, “What led the child of a family of doctors to join the police force?” She giggled, a little embarrassed. “I just suck at anything to do with science.” He only half-heard the rest of her convoluted explanation, though, because every second or third breath hurt. Maybe he should Google the signs of a heart attack when he had a free moment… -
A fantastic first chapter, exciting for the future Sam faces, and the bittersweet pangs of leaving the only home he's ever known. It can't be easy.

Just another delightful chapter... -
These poor boys are suffering from DSB (Deadly Semen Back-Up), failure to treat it could lead to wearing coke bottle glasses, warts, and hairy palms. Not to mention a handshake that could crush another boy's hand if they go for the long-term cure....

The Months That Make Boys Older
drsawzall commented on Tony S.'s story chapter in The Months That Make Boys Older
Kitt...don't dilly dally and obsess over this...CALL MATT!!!!!!!!!!! -
It is a testament to the author as to how folks react to this story, my computer is hearing all my frustrations. Wholly new combinations of cussing words that no one should ever hear...don't get me started on my poor keyboard... The following has to give me pause, and as @weinerdog and @Jjeffalch point out, things that should be done aren't. The mother's silence in reporting her child is missing is difficult to understand. And I have to include the pastor in this as well, as he has a duty to care and to speak up when he sees something wrong... More concerning is Matt, not putting 2 and 2 together, and at the very least, put up some missing posters with Kitt's picture and contact info. As we see in the excerpt below, Matt is smart enough to look at missing pet posters that he can't make the connection... He still searched. Just not in the feverish way he had before. Some nights he scrolled through community posts in Riverbend—fundraisers, local news, missing pet flyers, random photos from events.
