  1. I can't add much to the comment being late to the party, other than I think all were spot on. I like the note about you 'inverting' the story, it give me some trends to spot in the directions you will take this. Again, a superb chapter, and I have to suspect old Albert truly wants to clear out any distractions for the new bride. Let's not forget, he left the ranch to go see her and get married. To me...for a city woman of means, to give up that lifestyle is quite the change. She must know how difficult life on a ranch can be, even a money making one...there' an incongruity here, and there's more to this piece of the puzzle that we haven't seen...something seems off... The boys best be going quickly and strike while the iron is hot, I would expect rather quickly after the argument between Fletche and his pa... And speaking of Fletcher and being called an arrow...aren't arrows long, hard, with a pointy tip???? One other note...the surprise Roland and the other ranchers are setting Albert up for sounds ominous to some extent that it may/might bring changes/conflict....God forbid Rob finds hisself on the road heading towards Barnswallow...
  2. And here I thought it was "Pant's Off Monday"....good thing I'm the only one home tho....
  3. Amen brother...amen...

    The Call

Andrew Lloyd Webber - Love Never Dies Lyrics & Meaning
  5. @Camy, and @Thirdly...here in Central Massachusetts, the center of the universe, I am surprised that you know nothing about the 'Fluffernutter' the scourge of many a regional dentist.... To make a 'Fluffernutter' on buys a jar of Marshmallow Fluff and a jar of Skippy Peanut butter, preferably the chunky kind, but regular works just fine, and use both to make a sandwich. For the bold and brave, a triple decker sandwich, turns one into a sugar fueled rocket...if you are curious, goggle the sugar content...and there isn't any proof, despite rumors to the contrary, that Marshmallow fluff is owned by the national association of dentists...

    The Call

Brian needs to come to terms with what he wants, if I understand correctly, his life is transient with no deep, or real, lasting connections. He’s all but said and admitted what he’s seeking, needing, yet unable to cross the Rubicon in his thought processing. There, and given what we know, he’s facing a decision as to a life of unfilled regrets and vacuous existence. What compounds all of this is a repeat of past, hurtful behavior…None of us can speak for Tommy and what he should do, love is never easy. Brian would ask what he was doing, whether he was free, whether he wanted to go out. Sometimes it was just for coffee. Sometimes a late-night movie. Sometimes nothing more than a drive with no particular destination. “I just don’t want to be alone,” Brian said once, almost casually. “Feels weird after… everything.” Tommy understood that. Or at least, he told himself he did. So he went. Again and again.

    Chapter 7

Called it…. Atreus completely ignored him, jogging over to the wooden crate. He was radiating heat, smelling of wet earth and sweat, his bruised face lit up with an eager, bright smile. He didn't bother grabbing a stool or standing respectfully at a distance. He just dropped right onto the crate next to Casimir, his thigh pressing warmly against the Prince's. "Hey," Atreus breathed, peering over Casimir's shoulder at the heavy vellum pages. "What are you reading? Is that Latin?" Hook, line, and sinker, Casimir thought, experiencing a massive, triumphant thrill

    Chapter 6

Wow…this chapter has a bit of everything….I'm becoming addicted to reading 2 chapters at one sitting, one a day just doesn’t cut it…. It”s either lightning has struck, or the poor boy has been captured hook, line, and sinker….
  9. Hoo boy, fasten your seatbelts folks, the ride is gonna get bumpy… Or…This is your captain speaking, there’s some rough turbulence coming… You’re going to take me on the ride of my life, aren’t you,” I said. He grinned. The real one. Not the almost-smile. The full thing, wide and sharp and so alive it made the stars look dim. “Yeah,” he said. “I am.”
  10. OMF’ing god…I could see this scenario….
  11. Loved this and watching the bond they all share grow and strengthen!
  12. Neil’s growth and acceptance of his nature is truly remarkable and very enjoyable to read. Not so sure I would ever have the patience for Wagner…

    Chapter 13

    The Drift

Thank you for sharing this. I had to go with sad and with mixed feelings. At the end of this, while I feel parts of this friendship was genuine, I also feel that Brian used Tommy selfishly.

And will this be when he’s turned and becomes Alpha?

    Chapter 17

This nearly had me reaching for the Kleenex…. I thought…" I cleared my throat. "I thought the two of us could do Christmas". Austin didn't say anything. His eyes moved across the room again. Back to me. "It's not exactly a real Christmas," I said. "The tree situation got away from me a little." "It's the best goddam christmas tree I've ever seen."
  18. Or Don…. Perhaps Don? And was it Isaac Foster in the woods?
  19. Or Don…. Perhaps Don?
  20. Booze and jealousy…..terrific combo….
  21. Oh my goodness…we have our first pissing contest and the splatter went far and wide. Best check the tops of your shoes folks…. I agree with @NDrewRndll, a fantastic and succinct analysis…. And @Summerabbacat, do you think Margot drags her but across the living room rug when those glands act up?
  22. Patience Mannly….patience….all good things come to those who wait… There was something about finding himself front and center, and then later, how Jo had said, ‘Nobody ever came to Two Spirits and didn’t hitch their horse and stay.’ With a soft sigh, he dreamily thought, If only I had a horse!
  23. Had a very, if hot...blazingly hot and humid 4th of July, and it was just your type of weather @Summerabbacat And sadly, the days are now going to get incrementally shorter...leading eventually to brrrr We have survived the past 250 years through all kinds of peril and yes, growth. Progress is slow, but marches on...we will survive the next two and a half years, longer if necessary. But enough of that...Family history shows a direct connection, like thousands of others, to the Mayflower, and I have to believe some of those ancestors are rattling around in my attic...that's my story, and I am sticking with it!! Here in Central Massachusetts, the center of the universe, the corn is knee-high for the fourth, and the first haying of the season is nearly complete. While we have been suffering from an abnormal heat wave, 100-degree days with 70% plus humidity, the new week is a return to normal temps and moderate humidity. As I told my neighbor, it isn't the heat so much as it's the stupidity it engenders...so it looks like I'm gonna have to put pants on...sigh....
  24. I’ve got a bone to pick with Ryder, while rightfully PO’ed at Owen for his lack of communication on things that matter. What was Ryder thinking when he discussed a Friday night date, that Owen was staying home polishing the porpoise? With the crucifix moved to the wall behind the bed? That there is a whole world that exists around Owen? Ruder is assuming much with scant to little information or background….and yes he’s more Ruder than Ryder…And a frigging Jerk Face… Everyone needs to step back and turn the temperature down, and yes @Summerabbacat, Maggot needs to remove her blinders while Ruder pulls the broken tailpipe from his ass…..
