Family Life: homophobia rules
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Family Life: homophobia rules
Miles is a certified POS, can't say much better about the mother, who incidentally is as fit as a fiddle...Good on Colin for cleaning the junk out of his mind...Bravo!! -
One adventure ends and I expect another to begin!!

Wow and double wow, this chapter had it all within it...I'm sure like others, worried about the servant girl to Lord Sarin, if she is there...are there others?? The lead-up and tension waiting and finally boarding the plane was masterful, so very well done!! My writer's hat is doffed to you for this incredible chapter...please let them land safely and return the same...

Humm...this happened to me once at Nick's Pub and it ain't easy dancing with a heifer... As to the ending...

If Thrad has testicles, it is past time to find them...

From your lips to God's ears can we hope that the madness ends...

Thank you, I've taken a moment to reread the story and wonder when we will grow up and actually address the issue!!!

As you know this is a polarizing subject and at the risk of repeating myself, the following applies... Thank you, I can honestly say I struggled mightily with this subject, it can and is very controversial and polarizing, but our children are dying because those who are able to effect change, refuse to do so...what will history say about us?
-
It is a difficult subject to cover, and at times I struggled with it..

I grew up in a household that saw the sheriff show up at our doorstep with the eviction papers and a moving van behind him, four times before I graduated high school...I know full well the disadvantages of growing up not being able to afford the simplest of things or luxuries. As a family when times weren't quite so difficult, we planned as a family, places to go or things to do, ensuring each of our varied interests were encouraged. Most importantly we learned that such dismissive behavior, such as I mentioned in my comment above, would never be tolerated.

I would read either Doc Tompkins or Empty Shoes next! I will respond to your message tonight! My sincere apologies... Hang tight, much more is to be revealed...

Couldn't say it any better, as Doris Day sang, Que sera, sera...who knows what's in your devious, oops...brilliant mind

A calm chapter with just a bit of angst at first with the brothers...one wonders if they are just a bit curious... It just may be me, but the continued "I'll tell you later" scenario is getting very tiring, quite frankly it is the...hallmark of very rude behavior...it is unnecessary and in all instances such as this, uncalled for...not that I have any strong opinion's either way... As grandma always said," If you cain't say what's on your mind, keep your frigging mouth shut"!! To be honest it isn't a trait limited to us older folks either...

Lacy's Status and Its Effect
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Lacy's Status and Its Effect
Because of my father's propensity to create all sorts of legal havoc and declining health, we put the family property in a trust that mirrored my grandmother's will. When the time came to place both my father and mother into long-term care, and not having financial resources, to pay, all sorts of entities tried coming after the property but could not touch it. The trust allowed for successor trustees thus saving the property from being sold... I believe in Massachusetts, if you die without a will the following applies... Chapter 2 - The Android
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 2 - The Android
Where's Congress in all of this, the children running the show should be legislating and making love illegal... “The new coding occurred after 5NTR0M’s Artificial Intelligence Programming concluded that despite the plethora of unsubstantiated beliefs humans hold, all humans believe in love. It is paramount to being human.” Captain Suoki did not like the answer. “That doesn’t make any…” but then he paused. He considered that every non-synthetic on his crew was either in love, or waiting for love, or had lost love, or swore they would never love again. They were lovesick, or love-struck, or loveless, or lovelorn, or unlovable. The horror.... Captain Suoki did not like the answer. “That doesn’t make any…” but then he paused. He considered that every non-synthetic on his crew was either in love, or waiting for love, or had lost love, or swore they would never love again. They were lovesick, or love-struck, or loveless, or lovelorn, or unlovable. The computer expounded, “5NTR0M’s new coding states all humans erroneously believe that the words and actions of others equate to evidence of love’s existence. 5NTR0M’s calculations arrived at the conclusion that love is like the other evidence-free beliefs, and yet it is also unlike them.” -
Like all the others, loved this chapter...and very glad the bad guys were stopped, quickly...am worried tho that they stated this was their turf....humm, could there be others??? Now on to important issues... Need to know more about the car!!!!!!

Lacy's Status and Its Effect
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Lacy's Status and Its Effect
There aren't any good outcomes with these types of medical issues, a co-worker in the office next to me survived an aneurysm as it was caught early and was able to return to work. Another friend/co-worker got up from the dinner table to grab something from the kitchen and never made it past the doorway into the kitchen, death was instant. As noted in a previous chapter's comments, while we were all ready to dislike Lacey, none of us would have wished such a fate on her. My heart goes out to Dominic and Dylan and the difficult road they are embarking on. -
Thank goodness order was restored and a new mystery explained, now on to why Christian is responsible for Pierre's troubles in America, how badly has he messed up, and is he trying to cover his tracks???

drsawzall commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The Giving Trees
Dang it Bill W, you had me reaching for the tissues once again and my checkbook...This brought back so many memories of my childhood. Most importantly, it serves as a reminder for, the reason for the season!! Thank you!! -
Your readers are pining for such a story, oh what fun you could have with that storyline!!!

Cain't add much, I have to agree with the comments on the symbolism and layering, all the hallmarks of one of GA's best authors, and this chapter was a testament to the writer's craft... So much happened in this chapter, all of it leading up to a catharsis for Jubal, much effort was made in finishing up things that needed doing and taking comfort in the accomplishments. Whether Jubal see's it or not, it is happening along with subtle reminders of the past, the good finally outweighing the past. Glass is repaired, doors are made, chores are done with a light heart, and the timorous, shy horses are beginning to accept Jubal, just as he is beginning to accept himself. Despite the author's contention, dealing with the broken branch was just that, it was so much more and a fitting capstone to this chapter, as we can see that what is broken in Jubal is slowly mending, as the past is being dealt with and discarded. Herman Melville is one of the greatest authors this country has ever produced, considering the layering and complexity we find in his stories, Moby Dick stands out foremost in my mind. Gary my erstwhile friend, you are giving the man a run for the money!!!

Going Home, Night Terrors, and Party Plans
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Going Home, Night Terrors, and Party Plans
The boys are natural parents, the only thing I would add is to have Adam read to them, I am loving the fact Adam reads, it is so frigging important... Now we have a judge-hanger...what possibly is going to set her off??? I'm guessing someone is trying to that Adam away from, gasp, two men living in sin....
