This is a good trip for both of them, ironing out the bumps one can expect when traveling together. Many important lessons learned, and issues easily smoothly resolved....I think of this as a warm-up to the vacation the two will take to Italy...while it could be phrased a bit differently, it is gratifying to see Colin 'growing' into his body and accepting the same!!

Now will have to read Heart and an epilogue would be a treat... I can't help but admire your skill with dialogue as @Gary L pointed out and your rejoinder. I for the life of me suffer from the gift of gab but struggle with writing dialogue, I love writing vivid descriptions and scene settings, it comes so very easy to me, perhaps a mind meld al la Star Trek?

Very interesting, I suspect we will see a few more references to Egyptology moving forward...but on to more important things, how in the heck are they going to escape from the guys with the chainsaws when they left the freaking car on the other side of the veil???? 😶🌫️

Toby was about to fill in the silence, when Bell jumped in. “Hey, ya know…what happened when we were together?” “Yeah?” Toby’s heart skipped a beat. Fear struck him instantly. What if he says it was all a mistake? Regrets, sorry about that, didn’t mean to lead him on, blah blah blah. “It was fun…ah…I mean it was…special.” Not sure just what to think about Carey and Apollo....other than to convince myself they will see each other again....Would like to see just how talented in math he just may be... -

Like others It is nice to see George back on the water and I also get the feeling that his command, while temporary, will be anything but... With a bevy of good-looking officers what do you think the odds will be he's canoodling beneath the sheets before the first week is up???

Oh my goodness...could it truly be this soon, we know it is coming...hang in there Dowager Amber... I still don't trust Lord Sarin, I keep thinking a pound of C-4 tucked up his backside and pushing him out of a plane at thirty thousand feet before detonation...it would be one way to honor his wish to be above all!!!

Joe is turning out to be quite the amazing young man, isn't he... This was a fantastic chapter and a very enjoyable read, I can't disagree with any of the comments, although I am waiting for the other shoes to drop... I am sure we haven't heard the last from; Colin's mum and brother, Mhairi's ex and Joe's father, and those pesky trust funds...
