    Burnt Dreams

Ugh. You set it all up and then didn't give us an ending. Did he know? Does he want the same? You are driving me nuts with so many unanswered questions. I want more!
  2. Life as it is. Not perfect, not one of happily ever after, but one of opportunities, mistakes, and fears. Glad to see this end on an upbeat note. I'm always a sucker for romance.

    Chapter 1

Marish moved slowly through the hallways. Her hand pressed against the gash in her side, while her body throbbed with the pains of the birth she had barely completed. She knew she had only one thing left to do and the baby would be safe, but it was all such a gamble. “I have no choice,” she whispered as the pain ran once again through her frail body. “Find her! Now!” Marish shook as she heard his voice echo through the hallways. She knew he wanted her to hear and stop whatever she had planned
  4. Regent is the child of a prophesy he knows nothing about. However, the man he thinks of as his father will do whatever he has to to protect his child.
  5. Now there is a twist to wonderland I never expected. I hope you continue. This has a lot of potential.

  7. Thank you all for the wishes. Just enjoyed some quiet time.
  8. Holiday Inn, may not exactly be gay but it is another campy holiday musical and one I really like.
  9. As usual I'm late to the party. Congrats on your lengthy membership. Here is ten more, or lets make that a hell of a lot more years to come.
  10. Happy Birthday Jeremy! Hope your deepest wishes came true.
  11. Hope your day was a great one. Happy Belated Birthday.
  12. Kitt - I figured I should display someone's work. Now would I be so sneaky as to post a story I wanted to know more of?
  13. Since Thanksgiving I have been on the run. I haven't been sleeping well or keeping up with much. My father's surgery went well but he is still recovering and that goes slowly. It seems the post office is playing hide the mail. One of my bills sent out over two weeks ago still hasn't arrived. I got a call today if the bill isn't paid by tomorrow I lose my insurance. Now I have to run there and pay it. Watch me pay it in the morning and check clear in the afternoon. I finally got my holiday cards out. Took a while and this is late for me. Of course after they were mailed I was notified a few people have/are moving and given new addresses. Hope the post office forwards cause I am not making out another. lol. Anyway I am hoping to get my own holiday gifts together and out. I have exactly eight people to get for at this point and not a single idea. Oh well. Hope everyone is having a better time of it. 14. Ah December is upon us and most people are deep into shopping mode. Some people are still fighting to finish their Anthology stories, which are to be in by today if you are smart, and some are busy with their on going stories. Yet I am here to tempt you all with new ideas to write about. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is Friday once again. Prompt 284 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following words in a story – a large pimple, an old man, a torn pocket, a diamond earring, and a stack of magazines. Prompt 285 – Creative Tag – Wonderland Lately you felt your life was getting a little crazy. You kept wishing you could get away and just not deal with your daily life. Then you ran into a guy who was dressed all in a white, with a rabbit design on his tee shirt that read, “Never late so always on time.” You watched him dash down the street ahead of you and seem to vanish into a store called The Looking Glass. Curious you go to follow him and slip as you cross the threshold. When you go to stand up you find yourself in a totally different environment. What is this Wonderland like? Is it better or worse than your normal life? So another week with no takers for the prompts. However I decided to dig into the past and find something interesting to post. So here is one I thought everyone might enjoy. Prompt 246 asked the author to use the opening line "What now?" Kitt rose to the challenge and gave this story to us to read. Do you want to know what else Kitt came up with? Of course you do. So go read the rest and then leave a comment. http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37326-prompt-246-creative/ Till next time - remember to write, read, and review. Enjoy everyone. - Wayne
  15. Thanks for the recipe guys, I am using a few of them tonight.
  16. Hope you got to enjoy your day. Happy Birthday Lisa
  17. Today is December 1st and it is World Aids Day. AIDS Yeah I grew up in the time that terrible thing reared its ugly head and made everyone afraid. AIDS was a death sentence when I was a teenager. There wasn't a chance of survival. It was just a wasting death. 1988 when I was in school there was still so much that wasn't known. People thought it could be passed by sharing needles, drinking cups, spit, and you name it. That made everyone suspect. Eventually it was known to be passed during sex, . I can remember going to a Health class where as you walked in you were handed two sheets of paper. One was folded up and the other was a large sheet where you were asked to go in and get five people to sign your sheet. In a class of 28 students two opened the folded paper to find a black dot. Each person they shook hands with was then infected. It was scary to see how easy it would be to pass that along. Because no one knew who was infected. It scared me and put me off sex for a long time. Before I was 21, five friends had become part of the AIDS Quilt. People were dying, people were blaming, and people were hoping for a cure. Twenty six years later there are drugs to help you survive. There still isn't a cure. The idea of being careful is again being forgotten. More frightening then ever are people who want the bug. Life is so precious and this dreadful killer still stalks so many world wide. The only thing I can tell people is be careful. Remember those who came before you, learn from their mistakes. You don't need to repeat them to learn them. HIV and Aids are preventable, but they aren't curable. I'd prefer not to see another patch for the quilt ever made for someone I know.
  18. Article states he was the passenger. Just feel so sorry to hear he died like that.
  19. For those who could find the time to be with family and friends, find time to be grateful for it, I hope they enjoyed their Thanksgiving.
  20. Another Friday has rolled around. Here in the USA it is Black Friday and all the retailers try to get shoppers out and spending their holiday cash. Hopefully before everyone rushes out to do that I can gather a few interested souls in writing a prompt story or two. Prompt 282 – Creative Tag – First Line “I’ve never had to tell this to anyone else, but I suppose it is time I did.” Prompt 283 – Creative Tag – Birthday Gift You weren’t exactly looking forward to your birthday but arrived as it does every year. Only this year, you got a gift you just weren’t expecting. What is it? Last week I gave two opportunities for Thanksgiving tales or even a fall tale, but there were no takers. So hoping people find something interesting to write about. Remember to read, write, and review. Have a good week everyone. - Wayne
  21. I just want to know more about the man who was after puppy in the upper world. How soon till we find out more about this mysterious rich "man"?
  22. Happy Birthday.
  23. Here we are again, another Friday. Where has this year gone? Well, looking at the calendar it is now late November, and the Americans are heading toward Thanksgiving. (Sorry, the Canadians have already had theirs and I don't mean to slight them, but I am horrible keeping up with everyone's holidays.) However, no matter where you might be it's getting close to the holidays and time with family. With that in mind you might have a reason to be thankful, for the close-knit ties, or maybe for not being with yours. Anyway on to the prompts. Prompt 280 – Creative Tag – Giving Thanks The holidays have rolled around again and you are back once more with your family. What are the things you give thanks for? Prompt 281 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following words in a story – turkey leg, cranberries, crushed flower, torn coat, and a football. Now because I decided to focus on longer stories that had begun as prompts I now have two weeks worth of prompts to choose from. There were some really wild stories that people should take a moment to read, but I do like to try and show new talent now and then. So this week's prompt comes to you from Daemok. She has woven together a new and interesting world. Have a peek. It was based off prompt 278 where the first line was - “Please, I can explain.” So what else happens between Six Fingers and Officer Thorin? Don't you want to know? Of course you do, so go read it here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37944-prompt-278-creative/ Don't forget our other prompts which can be found here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37945-prompt-279-creative/ - Really, read Mann's story at your risk. And then those tales of prompt 276 - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37908-prompt-276-creative/ - There are some sweet romantic tales. So there are plenty of new stories to read that came out of the prompts. Hopefully one of this week's will appeal to you and get you writing. Remember to always link your work if you post it on your own page. So my fellow GA members, please remember to write, read, and respond to these and other works on the site. 'Til next time, enjoy. - Wayne
  24. Well no one can say you didn't take that idea and run with it. I'm not sure I would have wanted to ride on that but I think I would have paid good money to see the people who did.
