  14. The only cleaver necessary is for the muppet that suggests to me that I should not use split infinitives. I would be inclined to shortly, sharply, shockingly, shudderingly, gorily, gleefully, and gildilly gratifyingly split the infinitely irritating hemispheres of said pedant from each other. Oops, was that just an über alliterative split happening there! Thanks Andy, I was just thinking about SIs earlier. Great explanation, even if I don't agree with it the basic premise The very idea of not having a world where Patrick Stewart splits my infinitives is quite disturbing.
  15. I wonder ... has CJ even heard of these pictures, far less seen them?

    Shifting Focus

Hmmmm, I do like your take on love, but I also think that it's your take on life that's most important, because you have found (recognised?) that without a proper view on life, love is pretty much doomed. It's just great that it's working out for you. Both. Good luck with year three!
  17. Cò là breith sona dhut a' dhaoine. Tha mi an dòchas gu bheil i a' cordadh riut
  18. On the first part ... weird! I've never done drugs, but I seriously think someone gave you something! On the second part ... there's so much I could say, but thank feck would be the starting point!
  19. Yeah, but the difficulty is the dickheads who can't compute
  20. Yeah, but she'll never know it, which leaves us all deep in the doo doo
  21. Isolately came to the conclusion that all the straight people with a bonkers religious conviction that disobeys the love thy neighbour commandment should be rounded up, put in a field and bomb the bastards to prevent them from reproducing. But before we send in the planes, we should further isolate all the ones that have made more gays and put them in a different field, so we can go and laugh at them for being so stupid as to risk putting cock together with pussy, given the rather high odds that they'd make more. Of course, you'd have to put up a sign saying don't feed the knuckledraggingfuckwits apes, but it wouldn't offend them because they don't believe in evolution and wouldn't have the first clue what you were on about. If only they were bright enough to realise that a woman is born with her eggs, and is therefore carrying around 10% of potential gays at all times, and that a man who makes several million sperm per day at a rate of 1500 per second, has the potential to be making, carrying, and nurturing 150 new potential gays every second. Straight testicles are apparently so happy with the idea of gays that they are busy making plenty of little gay sperm all the time ... or maybe it is a secret desire working subconsciously in the straight guys's balls. The real irony is that just as the holier than though religious straights are busy making more gays, they're also making 900% more idiots than gays, then contaminating the good people incubators (also known as church) with this as yet undiscovered shower of interloping ass stabbers. !!!!!! "Whaddayamean 900%. It's not possible to get more than 100% of anything" !!!!!! they say. Duh
  22. Well, when there's nohing else to do but do, you might as well do something. The trouble starts when you drop the wrong thing in there ...
  23. All the best to you, your brother, and your family. That has to be your focus now. Time for us to do something for you, even if it is only to understand and be patient. Good luck.
  24. I've just been checking out Colin's stuff again, and I'm glad to see I've reviewed them all, so I've read them all. I think he's a great writer, except... except there isn't enough of him I've never looked at FSO because I never really saw the point. I think being a gay author just means being gay. The added benefit is that we get a sympathetic hearing / depiction in stories that are not gay centric. And it's good that there is a diversity on GA. Long may it and Colin be part of 'here'. I have to say I'm astonished to hear that a 'senior' mod took that approach. I'm upset to say that I'm not all that surprised though. Sometimes mods just can't be helped What I do find strange is this comment that so many writers are going elsewhere. I've heard this several times recently, but never the who, or much more importantly, the why. Seems to me that is a fundamental to improving the site and sustaining it. Long live the Colinians of this realm!

    Killing your babies

Well, I don't remember the whole story as it's over a year since I read it, but I do remember that I liked it a lot. We should never say never, but my advice would be to leave LWR alone. You'll gnaw at your own bones and disable yourself. You'll never be satisfied with it because you're dissatisfied now. Sometimes I think that going back to fix something you're not even certain how it's broken is like wading through quicksand: difficult, exhausting, and ultimately you only get back onto firm ground rather than the cloud you want. The other thing is the opportunity cost. Fixing it (or not) means you don't give yourself the chance to start on something new, with the experience you have gained to make it better. You're a good writer. But every good parent comes to realise, in the end, that their babies have to stand ir fall on their own. Far better to let them fail in their own way, than to kill your own babies.
