I hope some of the humans will tell the aliens that human females also speak up in polite company - in fact they're often considered more polite company than males. But the red-headed doctor needs to work on overriding his primal instincts. What the fuck was he doing taking a protective stance in front of Audra? She's way better at combat than he is, and even if she did accept his romantic interest, there's no way she'll let him do this alpha male shit. And doing it in front of the aliens too - the idiot is signaling she's 'weak' if she needs 'protection'. What a jerk, he'd never have done that if Audra was a man. I hope she keeps ignoring him, until he starts respecting her and her abilities. OK, rant over. It was a great chapter. More please

Well, I had no clue the barn belonged to Zander's parents, so the story wasn't that transparent. But I did worry about the school being shut down, including no heating, which might be a problem for Andy. I look forward to finding out, how he ended up in the barn, and what happens next. Oh, and considering what happened with Green Hat I think Andy coped fairly well.

I loved the bit about Mikey looking at the books as they were going through the boxes. That's exactly what I would have done, and I'd have ended up with the same size stack. I agree with Gary that Mikey did well on helping Jay with his confusion about Jerry. It was a sensible explanation, too. The description of the old-fashioned store had me going completely nostalgic, and it was interesting to hear the shop owner compliment Mikey on doing well with his car and him taking it in his stride. Great chapter, CG, and I had to go look up Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There is nothing better than a Royal Flush or making love to the man in your life. This was a perfect chapter to celebrate your new status, Gary, and I'm proud and to have been allowed to be a small part of your success as an author. As soon as Kendall knew the all-out renovations were his mom's idea, he had no problem accepting the gift. This tells me he's still a bit wary of Carson's new self, and his manly pride in doing well on his own is still important. I don't blame Kendall at all, but I think he's done everyone a favour by letting his parents do this. It's another huge leap forward to have him think that he's looking forward to sharing a house with them. I need not say how I feel about the other half of the chapter, do I? But for some reason my favorite quote is: all that existed was Kendall.

Thank you, my dear beta. Yes, Nelson's mom is delighted her son has finally found himself a wonderful boyfriend. I think she is aware that his feelings for Eric are deeper than he's admitted so far. The scene you liked was actually easy to write, all I had to do was imagine how I'd react to Nelson in those jeans.

Prompts Writing Prompts #464 & #465 & Poetry #16

Ditto Prompt 429 was a fun challenge. -
I can't help being pleased I made you cry a little. Russell is indeed coming to see himself as a new person. I may not have made this clear enough (since you're confused), and to be honest I read that part again, and the logic is a bit fuzzy to me as well. But what he realizes, fully, is that by loving and choosing Jacob he's actually getting closer to Evan and reestablishing the twin bond. This is the moment he becomes totally convinced being with Jacob is the right thing, and he feel gratitude for Jacob loving him and not giving up on him. Letting go of the doubt enables Russ to express his love for Jacob, unconditionally and without inhibition. I hope this makes sense.

I'm glad you think Russ keeps improving, particularly in his self-image. His new understanding about his sister is another piece in the puzzle that is Russell's past and hopefully more aware future. I'm pleased you liked the travel solution, and I agree on all the advantages you point out.

Chapter 34: Keeping Up
Timothy M. commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 34: Keeping Up
Sigh, Terry - and I bet she didn't feel uncomfortable for very long after forcing two sad truths out of Andy. Oh well, at least running with Kaz is a good experience. -
I’m sure there are plenty of less accepting circles in Danish society (‘manly’ sports, builders and construction workers, religious sects, etc), but in the segments Russ meets via Jacob, he’ll find very little homophobia. More on this in later chapters. I hadn’t thought about Jacob as sneaky, but you’re right that he uses every possible chance to show Russ how much he appreciates him. Oh, and I’ve forgotten about the sketchbook in the next chapters, maybe it’s time to fix that. Good point about the boyfriend/fiancé nuance and also on the stress fainting. Russ is facing a lot of issues and when he can’t shunt them out of the way, something has to give. Can you imagine the anxiety attack he’d have had if all of this had exploded in his face in a non-supportive environment? Thank you for writing all these epic reviews, they made my day. (and other writers just a tiny bit envious )

Let me see if I can give a reply worthy of yet another fantastic review. Surely writing them must take longer than reading the chapters, and I’m profoundly grateful you’re taking the time to do so. One: yes Kathrine is one of my favorite sidekicks. She’s perhaps mature for her years, but I’ve met one or two sensible girls like her. I agree she opened Russ’ mind to the path he needs to take to deal with his father, and to the fact he must become his own person. Two: Russell is taking great leaps, but he’s also ignoring some things, which he’ll need to deal with eventually. But the important thing is he’s burst out of his shell and he’s happy to have done so. Plus he’s committed to Jacob, enough to see marriage as the logical conclusion. It’s not surprising Jacob is delighted with the new Russ. Finally: I’m very happy to have one more reader who can take the BDSM aspect in her stride. Your interpretation of this aspect is probably the best I’ve seen so far – in fact, probably better than my own. Jacob may have played with the idea in theory, but when confronted with it in real life, he’s less certain and he’s not going to rush into that kind of sex. But talking dirty, oh yeah he’ll indulge himself and Russ there. Oh, and I'm all that you found the sex hot as well as loving.

Another awesome review. I love how you latch on to Russell’s loyalty as an important aspect in how he reacts, and that you rejoice in his own recognition of this quality within him. I’m also all about you saying that you can already see Russ growing and maturing. I agree that most of the credit for this goes to Jacob and his loving but firm pushes, but Russ is definitely ready to break out of his cocoon. And as you say Jacob still let’s Russ take the steps at his own speed. Glad you’re OK with the submissive/dominant theme of the story, even if it may stay low profile.

Questions and Distractions
Timothy M. commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Questions and Distractions
Wow, I’m sort of speechless. Such an amazing review, and the best part is you make me see new layers which I didn’t realize were there. In fact, you actually make me like the story a lot more than I did. Every observation is spot on, and I love how much you’re able to infer about Jacob from his behavior and words. I'm thrilled at all the details you point out, since all of them were things I spent time developing. You also highlight one of the important themes of the story, ie how can Russell avoided becoming dependent on Jacob in an unhealthy manner, while at the same time having his need of love and closeness fulfilled and deal with all his issues of self-dislike and lack of confidence. Thank you for another fantastic review. -
Prompt 460 Who invited you?
Timothy M. commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Prompt 460 Who invited you?
Sorry about missing this wonderful review until now. It's a very interesting theory, AC, and I shall have to think it over carefully before I write the next chapter. Ryan did say something at the party, which caused Rob to punch him, but that may have been drunken stupidity. Hmmmm... -
“Go take a shower, while I make you something to eat.” My mom shook her head fondly and gave me a push. She’d found me staring at my closet as I was trying to work out what to wear, but getting distracted by thoughts of Eric, and of Rob’s crazy schemes. “Ehm, I’m not really hungry, Mom.” My stomach was all in knots. “I’ll make pancakes.” “Pancakes? Do you have time for that?” She normally left at seven. “I don’t have to be in the office until ten, today.” Translation: she could have slept in
