LOL, I'm sure there were clothes and stuff lying around, but like me the first thing Nelson looks at are the books. And I'm glad you thought them suitable to Rob's character which I'm trying to develop in case I ever get to do the Rob at College sequel. I loved that you've noticed that Nelson is an observer and a thinker - just like Eric in fact. But now they need to switch to acting and talking in order to deal with Nelson's fears and Eric's worry. Thank you Gary, I'm delighted you thought I achieved a good balance, and that you consider them all as friends. Yes, Rob's parents have expectations, but I think they are will be supportive rather than demanding, and the aim is for the boys to lead happy and useful lives. The insecurities of being young and in love - not always easy to deal with. And Eric and Nelson are still a very new couple, something which is easy to forget. Let's see how they deal with this.

I'm not quite sure yet what Rob has in mind (here is where my lack of knowledge of the US education and career systems is a problem, but I shall have to rely on my beta). But he certainly wants to achieve and have success one way or another. Eric has been keeping a low profile for a long time (easy to hide behind Rob), so the idea of being in the spotlight can be scary. But with Nelson at his side I think Eric can do anything. Glad you liked Sir Rob, and you just made your own catchy phrase: 'evil clutches of bigotry' - I may have to use that in a future chapter.

Stephen was quite clever, helping Brat in his own way, even if he did annoy him with all the talking and not always considerate questions. I hope he and Brat become friends, and that Stephen's parents will be glad they listened to their son's request.

You Can't Turn a Heart into a Diamond. Somehow the chapter title makes me hope (together with dugh) that Nate's dad is redeemable. Because someone and something tried to make his heart as hard as diamond on the matter of having a gay son. I mean, Mark wasn't born a bigot, this was instilled into him by parents, peers, the community he grew up in, the church he attended, the slurs and lies repeated by friends, school mates, work mates and the media, or wherever he got his bigoted views created and bolstered. Obviously he's been clever enough to keep his unacceptable opinions under wraps when visiting the in-laws, and probably there hasn't been any occasions for the matter to come up, not as long as Kendall was in the closet and Michael oblivious. Indeed the Aceto Family members might have avoided the subject during Christmas etc, so as not to put pressure on their son and adopted son. So Mark never had his attitude questioned or challenged, and therefore no chance or incentive to change. I might even say that Nate's problem was a little bit due to K&M being too scared to acknowledge how they felt about each other, before now. I know that's unfair, but I agree with Eagle-eyes that Mark may well make that connection and 'blame' M&K - and I bet he probably already secretly disliked Michael, because he was in awe and jealous of him, and hated feeling inferior. so he sort of enjoys being able to look down on him (in secret) as a 'fag' - and that could easily slide into hate for 'corrupting' Nate, even from afar and by association. Illogical, I know, and perhaps far off the direction Gary will take the story, but it was how this chapter made me feel. Anyway to get back to the title, I hope Mark's heart beats harder for his wife and his children than for all those who want him to turn it into stone against a gay son. Of course, he still has to make amends (including apologizing to Josh !!), and he will have deal with his issues (therapy or whatever), before Nate can go home. Oh and I agree Nate cannot go back to his old school, unless it is willing to tackle the matter and ban / punish the bullying and namecalling. But in the long run, Nate is better off being with his close family, even if I'd enjoy a story development with M&K fostering him. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and my hopes up for Mark to do a fast Carson conversion. But while Megan gets Mark onto line, I'm delighted to see Kendall exercise his worrying / caring side with Nate, and for Michael to go all protective and supportive. It's what they do best - apart from what they do in bed.

Ohh how did I miss out on this chapter last night ?! Yum, and I'm glad he finally came to the right conclusion about their relationship. But now I want to know how Levi reacts, I'm hoping his happy surprise is not too obvious to Jack, lol. Oh and I have the feeling they are going to have an extra intense night. Well done on using the prompt twice - or at least very nearly the same question. You're getting very good at this - and if your prompt responses get any hotter, my laptop may burst into flames. good thing I had my Danish Drool Diverter ready.

Oh man, the lovemaking was out of this world, in spite of the sadness of knowing what happened in Snowflake's past. Brian is brave to admit his feelings, and I want to him for doing so. I hope Snowflake stays melted, but I'm sure Brian will hug him and fuck him and kiss him and bliss him until he finnally believes with all his heart that the love is real and the forever kind. I shall now go to bed and dream sweet dreams of fire and ice and the hottest sex on a mountain.

I'm so happy you started this chapter with the declaration of Brian understanding how he has found love, and it has changed him profoundly. I can now enjoy the lengthy flash back knowing all will end well. Once more we have to applaud Sabrina for doing all she can to ensure Snowflake's happiness and I'm glad she can read Brian's sincerity. Telling him Snowflake cried and about his issues is a good move, because Brian needs to think and not simply cruise along and react as he's done before. Snowflake is so special and irresistible and good for Brian - and the best is Brian knows it too. I hope Snowflake feels the same. A great chapter - and reading it again feels like I got a present on your birthday. Kiitos !

One of my favorite romantic chapters of all GA. The way they both feel drawn together and Brian loves Snowflakes smile and thinks he is beautiful, while Snowflakes realizes Brian makes him laugh and is the Fire to complement his Ice. Loved the Norn idea, I feel all Nordic and satisfied and I know he's right. Their fates are entwined forever.

Sabrina is the key stone of this chapter, or at least most of it. Through her we know that Snowflake's breakdown is unusual and scary, she gives him the knowledge of Brian's injury which leads to the dramatic skiing machine situation, and she lets us experience the aftermath of Jimmy's heartbreak - oh and of course we also feel very strongly for her own loss when she realizes Snowflake has been caught up in the vortex of Brian. And I loved the final part about Brian being warm.
