  1. Sigh, Carter really is a coward about his emotions, even if he's brave with his body. Fuck buddies, honestly.

    Epilogue

Hmm so poor Lionel had to wait for years and years in order to deliver the message from Keith at a time when Kris was old and sick. This seems terribly unfair. I hope he had an even more important task of trying to find the villains behind Keith's fate. Noel and Jonah have something in common with running away to another country. Let's hope it's not the only thing they share. I'd love to read more about Simon and Landyn.
  3. The speed dating was almost too embarrassing to read, but at least it yielded a possible candidate. And Amanda seems a good actress with the way she pretended to be surprised to see Trout in the bar. Of course, she recognized him in the dating session, and that's why she didn't volunteer much info.
  4. Tillykke med fødselsdagen fra Danmark Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Gary. Are your children visiting ?
  5. I agree with Gary's and Ronyx' points about seeing the movie in context of the time it was released. I read the short story after having seen the movie. I think 'the tragedy and pain of homophobia and of the expectation of heteronormality' was actually what the movie captured best. It is 100% on the side of Ennis and Jack, so the audience ends up there too. And let's not forget that the wife of Ennis was another victim. The first 'intimate' scene shot was That scene may have brought home to the audience the fact that nobody wins when people cannot be open about who they are and who they love. Of course, that doesn't mean other movies haven't done the same thing even better.
  6. I'm glad the coach took action, but I'm not sure Daniel will be pleased about the potential consequences.
  7. Uhm, I thought Brokeback Mountain was one of the movies which made it abundantly clear to straight people how badly gay people have been treated for years and years. For this to happen it had to be a tragedy. But now that you mention it, most of the queer movies I know of (which to be honest isn't that many) have sad plots and endings.
  8. Thanks, B & G (does that make you the BeeGees ) Sleep well, Gary. I'm still a bit awol from GA, but slowly working my way back.
  9. Unless you're an underwear model. Good morning (afternoon) Bucket.
  10. Make sense, but why does the box show up if not activated ? Oh well, one of the mysteries of software, I guess. And blog comments are like story comments and not like forum posts ?

    Home and Away

Oh no, they won't get to see the fountain display. But I guess they can come back another day. Geoff should suggest his ex-mother go to a home where she can be looked after. If she expects him to help so she can stay in her home, he can make it a condition she doesn't sell his house, but lets it to him. She has more to lose than he does. But of course, he's much too kind to stay firm with her.
  12. It was a good idea to have just four stories at a time. I enjoyed all of them and am looking forward to next weeks installment.

    Tomorrow

As a Dane there is no way I can comment on the topic of this story without offending a lot of USA citizens. You'll have to solve this crazy problem on your own. But it's a well-written story.
  14. It would also be nice with a small side dish of how they also try to prevent even more plants and animals from going extinct. To me that would show humans being finally mature enough for the next stage - reaching for the stars. Otherwise, we'd simply go out there and destroy other planets too.

    Chapter 13

I'm very pleased Kris and Noel had a long happy life together. They both deserved that and it was a good way to make Noel more equal to D. by getting his own life experiences. Poor Keith, I'm sad about him and Lionel. I wonder what his task is, maybe guarding Kristof to make sure no one got to Noel by killing his partner.
  16. Awesome sci-fi story. I have to admit, you had me worried with the 'fathers' news, in case they didn't survive. I hope the human population was kept at a much lower level to reduce the resource need and allow more space for nature.
  17. Even though I knew what was coming I still felt anxious while reading and relieved delight at his transformation at the end. Someone better, happier who was perishing for love finally had the chance to become part of the gay community he had shunned for far too long. But at least those loveless years enabled him to earn enough money to live the life he truly wanted. A wonderful, heartwarming tale.

    Their Story

I guess Jack should be at least partly grateful for his niece's help, since he would have met Mukisa otherwise. But it's still satisfying to think of him giving a mental fuck finger to the busybodies when he moves into his new home. And he might be more comfortable having Tommy visit, than if he was in his and Gabe's home.
  19. I'll rant at you about this topic any time you want. Just ask the poor authors who accidentally included it - especially in a story I'm editing. @lomax61
  20. Thanks I first sent Renee a one word reply - but later I decided to add the explanation. And I really do stop reading in most cases - or skip the liking and commenting.
  21. I know I've asked this before, but I've done a bit of testing. When we edit our comments in stories and posts in forums, GA blogs, and club topics, we have the option to write something in the Reason for edit box. I think it also used to be in status updates, but no longer, which makes sense, because you couldn't see what you wrote. My test shows: If you write in the Reason for edit box in Forums (including Chat) and in Clubs you can see the content. Anything written in the Reason for edit box in GA blogs or in comments in stories isn't visible. Is this an ongoing bug or a feature we have to live with ? The main reason I'm asking is that I like the Reason for edit box and the funny things people write. So for adding it in the big update, and I hope we'll get to use it in more places.
  22. I wonder if his ears got stuck when he tried to retreat. I bet it was funny afterwards, but not at the time.
  23. I'm trying to think where you wrote a funny post about this, but I'll probably have to go snoop in your activity stream. Duh - in Ask an Author of course.
  24. I'd like to add to my editor answer that if the blind spot is bad enough that you can't find the problem even when you look for it, then tell your editor so we know. I used to every time @AC Benus wrote barley instead of barely, until he told me it was one of the few dyslexia issues he hadn't been able to get rid off by hard work. His writing is so good I hadn't even considered this explanation.

    Chapter Fourteen

Somehow I hope it will be better this way. Jen can have a fit and yell at them, get all the anger out at once. She's entitled to feel betrayed, but on the other hand she hasn't really made it easy for Noah to tell her anything.
