Ok - where has this thread been hiding since I joined the sight last April? I shared this recipe with Sasha a few weeks back. I know you Brits will be appalled at the amount of butter used so feel free to play with it. Sasha has started already. I don't remember where I got this recipe from so I can't give proper credits, best I can do is say it isn't my own. I have however experimented and have not yet found a fruit it doesn't work well with. I reduce the sugar in the fruit cooking drastically, but cutting the sugar in the batter section was disastrous Super easy Fruit Cobbler For the fruit: 4 cups of fresh fruit prepared appropriately. That means peal and cut to fairly large pieces for some, wash and stem for others etc 1 cup granulated sugar I reduce this with some fruits to about 1/4 cup - depends on how sweet you want things. For the batter: 1 c all purpose flour 1 c sugar 3 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 c milk you also need 1 stick ( 1/4 pound) of butter I told you that you Brits would be appalled Pre heat oven to 350*F ( 177*C) during the preheat place the butter in a 9x13 baking dish in the oven allowing it to melt and brown slightly While things are heating: Combine all dry ingredients for the batter and set aside bring fruit and sugar to a boil forming a simple syrup Add milk to the batter and whisk till just combined - don't over do Pour batter over the melted butter Pour fruit over batter DO NOT STIR! Bake till golden brown approximately 25 to 30 minutes, and not too wiggly. About like a stiff Jello wiggle is good ( Thanks for the imagery Sasha!) When in a particular hurry I have used canned peaches, fruit salad, and canned pie fillings in this. Just make sure they are in syrup and not plane juice as the whole thing comes out runny with the juice packed fruits. Do toss it into a microwave safe dish and warm it first tho or it really affects the cooking time. Hubby wanted me to add: Is great served warm from the oven with your favorite ice cream on top!

Listening to bosses is sooooo over rated. Boss rant's are usually useless!

Only three more chapters???? I certainly hope at the end of the third when you wind up the story you leave possibilities for a visit to the villa of Marcus Quintillus Braxus in the future.

When was the last time you got a handwritten letter?
Kitt replied to crazyfish's topic in The Lounge
Oh it makes sense ! If you text even a huge three ringer, you tend to stay on topic. I get on the phone with a friend and once business is taken care of the conversation digresses. I can end up on the phone for an hour easily! Thank god for blue tooth! I fold more laundry using one than i'll ever drive with it! -
Not just the world of internet fiction. Granted his stories took on a life of their own and got a tad out of control, but look at best seller author Robert Jordan. He was up to around 14 books in his "Wheel of Time" series with so many loose strings he would not have been able to tie them up, he would have needed to weave a blanket, when he passed away.

And just how much can we read at one time? With the number of fantastic authors here and the amount of currently being posted great fiction that is tossed at us on a daily basis on the list to the left at sign in, you have to give us newbies a chance! We keep up with what our favorites are writing, catch new things in between from the latest updates list, and then, if time and our already overworked eyes allow, we start on the long long list of the other great authors around here. Some of us even get caught up in the mystique and start writing ourselves, or as in cases like mine, begin editing to help support an author. God knows I am insecure enough about posting prompt responses, you people who put your thoughts and emotions to paper deserve all the love and support you can get!

Does a short note intended for a receptionist clipped to business correspondence count? If yes I have both received and sent one within the last week and do it regularly. If not - probably about a year ago for sending one. Darned if i can remember the last one i received. -
"...and ruined your black tie affair." Careful Sasha - I smell another story trying to distract you again!

Like I have always said, its the person not the bits. Well done Sasha!

Well said Daithi. I am so looking forward to seeing the boys again in the future. As good as they are with Braydon I can see a time coming down the road where they decide a munchkin in their lives is something they want. Even if you are not ready for those ideas you talked about yet - write em down for when you are.

Since i am straight and married 30+ yrs, and don't care who a friend choses to bring to their bed as long as they treat each other well, i haven't really any need of gaydar

WoooHooo! First time I have seen being outed in a story be a good thing! I love how it shook Zu awake to realize just how he is feeling about Zander. I am sort of surprised that at least one of the guys at the gym didn't voice an issue with Zu coming out. It's rare that a group of people that large would not have at least one bigot I keep waiting for Zol to corner his bro. I can't see him having an issue with it being Zander, but i do see him getting a bit put out that his bro didn't talk to him thru all the shifts in his thinking. Seems like Zol is pretty committed to his brother and I get the feeling being left out of the loop is going to make him feel a bit irritated. Even Bay and Issac have been told more. Tiny chapters are fine if they keep coming this fast. You have developed another addictive story my dear. Bravo.

So Zander isn't "versatile"? I am starting to feel like a McDonnalds commercial but.....Lovin it!

I'm thinking Zane has some knowledge of, if not a hand in, Jesse's stint MIA. Not sure why execpt that I took an instant dislike to the brash bully. And have you been taking cliffhanger lessons??? You are handling the coming of age nicely, with an interesting twist. Hard enough for Travis to grow into the man he is going to become, but it seems Riley has to manage the same thing with only his programming to guide him. Lets hope the code jockey that wrote it covered all the bases and that repair program can manage to fill in the holes. I get the feeling one of those holes is going to make the difference in this plot. Nicely written. You convey the panic Travis feels at his brothers disappearance well. Please don't make us wait forever to find out where Jesse was off to.

I am getting the feeling it isn't either of the things Daithi is seeing. I think its Zu has not quite come to terms that he went from straight to straight-ish to not so straight at all in a very short span. Takes a bit of getting used to. As usual you leave us drooling for more. Looks like the words weren't as difficult as they seemed! Lovely.
-
Will really be nice when things don't turn awkward after something like that.
-
I love it when Will turns out to be handling something more maturely than his dad. I'm getting the feeling the hustling IS a part of Kai's life, but not by choice. Perhaps Will is about to join the ranks of the people in the family who go just a tad out of their way to help someone? A big step in his maturity development. As always a wonderfully written chapter that has me waiting (im)patiently for more.

Daithi is right - you hadn't mentioned the probability of the tree impaling and killing Issac but the account was Issac's memories of the day. It isn't uncommon that a gruesome possibility like that is blocked out by the subconscious mind. Many people recall little to none of a horrendous accident for days and sometimes even months after. I keep waiting for Zu to have at least a minor freak out. All of this is so new to him I cant help but think sooner or later it sort of has to cause some sort of issue between him and Zander. FANTASTIC babe. Can't wait to see what your devious little mind comes up with for the first time Zander wanders into "virgin territory".

A First Time For Everything
Kitt commented on Sasha Distan's story chapter in A First Time For Everything
The advantage to short chapters is they come quickly. Love the way Zu swings from confident to shy at the swish of a tail. Can't wait to see what happens when Zander puts 2 and 2 together and realized that giving a good BJ isnt Zu's only first tonight. Well done my dear! -
And just like with many of the issues Daithi sighted, the reverse discrimination is beginning to show. Blacks spent years in putting down whites, and after so many years of seeing homophobia as I was growing up I am now seeing hetero-phobia. Why must the human psyche go to both extremes before things finally settle into a semblance of reasonable? Just as the color of someone's skin should not make a difference- neither should ANYONE's choice of a bed partner.

LOL!! Hubby just said the same thing!

I may be a day late but since your day fell on the weekend perhaps you are still celebrating? Hope yesterday was fantastic and today even better!
