Great to see Casey and his dad be able to talk without one of them storming out in a huff... I loved the little line about Lane worrying Casey wouldn't like him if he was different. That was very sweet. And Joshua seems like evil incarnate... LOL

I love the confusing glimpses into the future. Nothing is ever what it seems in the Metaverse as we all know by now, so what appears clear in a prompt can be something completely different...

I was thinking from his point of view. Trying to kill himself is as bad as it gets in my book. Even from that lowest of low, he somehow clawed his way up again.

I doubt Colt could have a much darker mindset... To me, his loneliness isn't his strongest motivation. I see his belief in himself, unwavering inspite of all the shit he's been through. He gets knocked down time and time again, but gets up. Somehow daring to strive for something better for himself. Because somewhere deep down, I think he knows he's worth it. He gets through school (even with Adam looming over him) and he goes off to college (albeit in a different fashion than he envisioned). Nothing can stop him, other than himself. So his loneliness is something he battles, but it's not his driving force. How's that for a pep talk?

But he's lived for years loved by his wolves and it seemed to me in ch 14 that was what was keeping him afloat and hoping, not simply giving up. So having something to live for can work too.

I have enjoyed your series a lot, especially the quirky humor inside Richard's head and I hope you've got that from my reviews. I felt the last chapter might have benefitted from being divided into two separate chapters, as it felt a bit rushed as you tied everythin up. I tend to do the same thing and am still learning to not just wrap it up (unless to stay safe LOL). For instance, the scene with the committe could use a little work and not simply be transcribed dialogue. It got a bit choppy and broke the rhythm of the story for me at least. That said, I look forward to read what you share with us next time!

To me, Kitty wasn't a very good friend, since she seems more interested in the idea of a 'gay male friend' than actually getting to know Colt. He has his preferences and to me that doesn't mean he's buying into a stereotype. He's a guy who likes guys of a certain look. Why he likes the guys he is attracted to? That's a very good question. Why do any of us like the people we are attracted to? Probably a mix of genetics, chemistry and upbringing and who knows what else. To in essence call him normative as if that's a bad thing is not right. Isn't the point of all the years of struggle to ensure everyone, man or woman, should be able to be who he or she wants to be without judgment? Love whoever they want? Longing for a 'traditional' life isn't wrong, as neither is living completely outside the norm. One friend. I think Fate could give him one friend...

I live on planet Optimism (much to JAR's amusement) so I would think he's coming back regardless. Just see Prime coming back from the dead. And he's part vampire. Must be good for something. They don't stay down for long. As for my brain... Cosi cosi...

Sleep well...? Yes, whatever is going on with that banishment, is either a scheme thought out by Colt and the wolves or some plan Colt has. Like when he left since he was afraid of his vamp side.

Good to see the two brothers finally talking about what’s really been bothering their relationship. Sad though that Vladi shows so much love for their father, even though they parted on very bad terms. The boys both love their father very much, despite his ways and views. That makes things so difficult. With the four of them meeting and getting to know each other, they now have a little band of their own and with Dante their gang increases in strength. I’m holding my fingers crossed for Alexi. Very cryptic clues he gave. I started to wonder how much Russian Masahiro speaks, but he wouldn’t make a stupid mistake like that. In my research, I did however find a rather amusing if offensive meaning of Daisuke in Russian…
