  1. Quite the opposite, I would think. Try whispering "lubricious" to someone while otherwise engaged in something erotic.
  2. Have fun, you two! Looking forward to more pictures.

    Mixed bag

BTW, was the spleen a new world's record? Dan thought it might be (although we know he exaggerates things on the rare occasion).

Trebs, It sounds like you still have a very good attitude. That's great! It also seems you have a good prognosis. Hang in there with the treatments and tell Dan that he has to stay home with you on November 4. for both of you. Mike

    Alzheimer

Mike, Our family has had to deal with both Alzheimer
  6. Congrats, CJ, on 7,000 posts. I continue to be amazed that a capra aegagrus hircus, or any other ruminant for that matter, can use its awkward hooves on those little qwertys.
  7. Happy Birthday, Angelo!
  8. Happy Birthday, Dom...wherever you are.

    HOME! (v2)

Trebs, Good to hear you are back home and feeling so good. Take care. Mike
  10. Yes, I saw it and had the immediate reaction...CJ got hitched! Train wreck? Where's our train wreck? Not in this chapter, but I think General Bradson is headed for one.
  11. Happy Birthday, Andy!
  12. I, too, try to avoid cliffs. I much prefer a place that is warm and wet.
  13. Kit has posted Tapping on the Harper Collins site. See Richard Lyons post: https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php...c=20914&hl=
  14. Viva Viagra!
  15. Great chapter, Duncan. Thanks. Matt and Luc are both very fragile young men, each with a lot in his past to overcome. Everybody's wounded as the saying goes. I keep wondering if it's possible for them to not hurt each other. Could they possibly be good together in any respect?
  16. Great chapter, CJ...and I'm glad you are back. Where is that train wreck? I hate waiting when I am expecting a train wreck.
  17. Good responses from Rec and Benji. I have a little to add. The My Lai massacre became public knowledge in November 1969. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_massac..._investigations, especially paragraph beginning with: The RFK assassination on June 25, 1968 was televised nationally. Kennedy was making a victory speech (California presidential primary) which I watched. A few minutes after the speech ended, TV cameras where in the hotel kitchen showing the scene. I remember Kennedy asking if everyone else was OK. It seemed that he was not seriously hurt since he was alert and concerned about others. I was surprised to learn later that he had died. There were no riots perhaps because the assassination was not an interracial crime. The assassination of Dr. King on April 4 was a different story. Dr. King was in Memphis - I lived there at the time - at the height of a work stoppage and protest marches by garbage collectors and their supporters. His death was a white on black crime and riots erupted throughout the country. Ironically, there were no riots in Memphis. I have always thought that Memphians were too shocked by the event to react violently. I only recently visited the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. I recommend it to everyone who visits or lives in Memphis. I hope this is helpful. Good luck with your story. It wasn't a very good year.
  18. Viv, Thanks for sharing this with us. I am sure it was not easy to do. Unfortunately, a lot of people who do not want children are more focused on, as you politely expressed it, the "HOW". Fortunately, most of them, when presented with the little bundle of joy, turn out to be pretty good parents. Christians have no monopoly on parenting skills. Christians have all the same problems everyone else has; we all live in the same world with the same distractions (sins, if you will). Christians who have really put some thought and effort into their religion know that the New Testament is focused on one thing...love. They have also learned that it is not their place to judge others. Being judgmental is the biggest problem most Christians have in their relationship with other people, including other Christians. Christians also realize that they are sinners...everyone is. That realization is the reason most of them became Christians in the first place. I don't want to be judgmental (it's very difficult to refrain), but I suspect the problems with Danielle's family did not start when she met Tony. Her parent's divorce - something that most Christians try to avoid - is an indication of earlier problems. Now that everyone's position has been staked out and documented in the e-mails you shared, I think you are right to encourage Danielle and to "love Danielle...and be there for her when she needs a reliable, intelligent, trustworthy adult to go to for advice and help." I wish you and your family - and Danielle's parents - the very best. Mike

    Breaking silence...

Trebs, Thanks for the update. I'm sorry that the surgery is needed, but am sure it will be for the best. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you tomorrow. Please ask Dan to give us an update as soon as he can. Perhaps this will take his mind off politics for a little while; he needs the rest (so do we). Take care. Mike
  20. From my Army days, I remember the term "train wreck" being used for any operation that was irretrievably screwed up. It's a polite yet stronger version of SNAFU. I trust it won't be applied to General Bradson's adventure.
  21. Thanks for the laugh, chappie. That is unusually funny for a Brit. I add my voice to "God save the Queen"...we need a good laugh and a reminder of why we put up with our politicians. I was wondering about the rule on shooting grouse. Why grouse and not foxes? Then I remembered that you simply let the dogs shred the fox to pieces. How civilized!
  22. Will, I think not being Crohn's disease is something to celebrate. Not knowing sucks. Prayers and best wishes continue for all things. Mike
  23. Great news, Kevin. Take care. I know there are still hectic days ahead.
