So much going on, it's amazing how when you're in sync again after a serious disaster , and even though the dynamic changes, has to change, how gratifying it is to work around and with one another again , even when you're out of your comfort zones. The little extra effort each partner makes becomes a fundamental link in the reforging of the relationship. This chapter frames the dynamic perfectly. Miriam remorseful? Miriam and a baby? Certainly not expected! May be the child , Don was dwelling on in the park.....?

The bitter-sweet emotions of packing up your your first home are so tangible in this chapter. It so much more than putting things in boxes , it's packing up and storing memories too. These two do it so well together though ... beautifully written. -
The juries still out on Teddy , he seems to say all the right things, even possibly mean them , when they're alone, then his actions make a liar of him. Maybe he should stop deluding himself and realize his friends are braver and more loyal than he is. Great chapter .

Once again the emotions in this chapter , past and present , between friends and lovers was viscerally tangible . I'm overjoyed they created a good moment. Thank you.

Well you see it's like this , with our exchange rate against the dollar, I'd be pretty broke if I paid you $20 if I really liked the chapter , so I'm going to tell little white lies and say ...., you know it was alright . It's a fib , but I need my bottom line to survive. Maybe my apprehension about the Chicago visit was premature ... but somehow I doubt it.

An oddly intriguing collection of letters , a humorous , witty , sometimes scathing veiw of characters passing through the narrators life. A refreshingly , alternative read.

"True, but this is a pretty major bump in the road ". The perfect understatement in this line sums it up perfectly. Those tiny gains in ground , the massive losses in territory, set out so candidly in this chapter . Don really is jumping the gun on the lover issue, but his internal battle is so very hard and very real . Sex , our role in it, whatever our inclination, is an integral part of how we see ourselves and react to others , even unconsciously, damage to that part opens up a whole vista of previously inconceivable emotions . Louis has his work cut out for him.... yip... a major fucking bump in the road .
