Many other readers have commented on the healthy, constructive nature of the conversation depicted here. I agree. I want to congratulate you on how real, and how natural yiou made it seem. Your gift for dialogue writing shines here. Others have talked about team Alek or team Nathan. At this point, only team Liam matters. It looks like the path imposed by the choices Alek and Liam made is one of casual friendship. The clear implication is that Liam will find romance with someone else. But it does make me wonder how Nathan will fare, let alone Alek. Many thanks for this chapter, which is more real than rosy. That's a good thing.

Another of your lovely, panoramic chapters, and this one begins to paint Ritchie more fully. CJ is certainly working hard at being a great older brother. At the same time, we see CJ and Owen far more closely connected as a couple. The moment on the ride back to DC was perfectly drawn, and memorable. The change of mood to the doctor's office made me smile. We can hope for a glimpse of Ezra, perhaps? Thanks for this chapter!

I was sorry to make you, other readers - and Scott - so very sad. Yet, it had to be done. It shows how much Scott has changed that he knew the truth had to be told. He didn't soften the blow or spin the reality of his past; another man, or an earlier Scott might have done that. Graham, of course, can only have the faintest notion of the change, as you say. Thanks so much for your tremendous encouragement in your remarks and in reading the story.

Thanks for this, Gary. This chapter tried to plumb the depths of Scott's misery - and even in that black, black pit, there was something good that he had done. But that spreadsheet couldn't completely counteract the gloom into which Scott descended. Only Graham could change that.

I love the phrase 'mess of a man.' Scott certainly qualifies as one. And I am glad you feel happy for Scott, and for Graham, too, I hope. Both seem like men looking for a measure of happiness which has eluded them both. Scott is surely a far cry from the predator he once was; and Graham was quick to take advantage of the opening Scott made in his plea for a chance at life. He pounced. Perhaps they can walk forward together once the voyage ends. Many thanks for your kind words and for reading the story to this point. And no, it isn't the end...

It is not going to be easy for them, but Scott and Graham can only be together if they are honest themselves. The speed with which this has developed has been both exhilarating and unsettling for each of them. But I doubt they would have it Amy other way. This chapter was a relief but a bear to write. I am glad you felt it to be realistic. Scott will have a challenge living up to the promises he made, but as he said himself, he feels he can manage them if Graham stands with him. The ever rational Graham wasn't going to go back to Scott without those conditions you mentioned. Thanks so much for your acute reading and attention.

And there just had to be a cliffie at the end. You knew I would come back to read more, anyhow! This was a wonderful chapter, giving us views and news of the new united pack, and what might be possible for them as time passes. The new Morningstar will be happy. But for Hugh and for Connor, it must have been hard to admit an attraction, and even harder for Hugh to act on it, let alone the painfully shy Connor. I still want to know how he was hurt, and what puts him in such danger. But that means there will be more of the story, right? -
It was a brutal thing to have to say, but there was no sugarcoating it. That Scott felt compelled to tell the truth to Graham simply shows how far Scott has come. But now it is up to Graham, as you say. The two of them will have much to think about, too. Many thanks for continuing to read the story, and for your comments.

Scott told Graham the truth, and opened his soul. Graham would have to be a saint not to reel at the revelations. I think you are quite right that Graham must feel both betrayed and confused right now. He is probably terribly sad that the burgeoning relationship he and Scott shared has come to an abrupt turn. Graham has a lot of sorting to do. But I think it says a lot about Scott's overall changes that he felt impelled to tell the truth, even if it was a big dose. Now Scott gets to count the cost of speaking the truth. Thanks always for your reading and support! - P
