    Chapter 9

How good you make it feel. Of course Dave had to take a long time to grieve and to heal enough to choose a future and not a past. How patient and good of Terry to wait. But Barry's not too subtle encouragement helped, didn't it. And I love that they are the bee keepers. There is something very, very touching about that. You have crafted a marvelous story, and you must take your bows! Parker

    Aquinas Frets

Such hope and anxiety and self-questioning all rolled into one nervous bundle. I think I would twitch, too. I am glad you enjoyed reading about Fletcher and Tomas. I wish I had more time to write about them, too.

    Door#6 - To Fly

This was perfectly wonderful. I cannot help but smile for the rest of the day. And I vote Adi. But if I'm wrong, it won't matter a smidge! I'll be smiling anyhow.
  4. I am very happy to see there's more coming. Thanks for a detailed picture of Jackson's training, and for the interaction with his teammates. It looks like there may be a few cracks in the united front of anti-Jackson feeling. Charlie the flirt could spell trouble, though. In the meantime, hooray for Luke at getting up the gumption to sneak out and wait for Jackson. Double hooray for his equanimity at the thought of telling the 'women' (lol, thanks for that!). We all know it isn't really those women who will go ballistic, but one woman in particular. Cindy seems to have an unlimited potential for causing pain and hurt here. Can she be convinced to do otherwise?
  5. Wow. What a beautiful joining. They have given themselves to one another fully and truly. I cannot add much to the chorus of approval and applause, but bravo, Gary, bravo. But while Kellar and Tobyn steal the show (as they should), you give us ample food for thought - is there a way for Warren to help? And the anxiety Elinor must feel can't be anything short of intense. Bet she's not getting any sleep, either. Many thanks for this chapter!

    Chapter 24

Glad Zac finally gave Adrian the serious shove he needed. Adrian has to work out his own path by himself. Given Adrian's circumstances, it could be very difficult - but it doesn't have to be at Zac's expense. Glad Kenny finally saw the light. Perhaps there is hope for the human race after all. Jimmy is an awesome character - everyone should have such a big brother. Now Zac has a greater problem. Austin is not Kenny, and he was hurt far, far more than Zac can know. Zac will have to do something significant - significant to Austin - to prove he's worth forgiving. Great chapter.
  7. Love that restaurant, and the menu. Remind me to retire there...
  8. Val! A beautiful memory...thank you for sharing this!

    Spares

This is an awesome story, and a beautifully written one. So many ways you could have taken this, but the road you chose was utterly brilliant. Completely agree with AC's words and sentiments. Eva is the person who needs some healing, and perhaps she will find it, or see a way to begin. And all because of a flat. Take your bows, maestro, we're applauding.
  10. I vote Adi. And I think my calorie count just blew up. Thank you!

    Chapter 23

Note to Austin: you just got badly hurt by a boy you thought you could trust; someone who you thought you might be able to give away a pice of yourself to. He's not a bad guy, but incapable of being what you need, apparently. Forget him, but don't give up on the idea that you can be happy. Someone good and right and ready for you will come along, really. As for the boy who gored you, he's got a lot of maturing to do, and is bound to get hurt just as badly as you hurt now. Probably several times over, by the look of things. Don't be mad at him for long, just pity him for his inability to handle any kind of relationship for more than a few days. Note to Ronyx: awesome story.
  12. This is fun! A new treat every day...and this one was such a lovely treat. They will remember this Christmas for years to come; they will date their memories by their frittata. I agree with AC, that we often reenact without looking for something new and beautiful on its own. Great story.....um, Val, I think.

    Turned Loose

This chapter could spur its own forum on chapter titles, it seems. One doesn't want to show mercy to TP; Marc is certainly struggling with it...but maybe the mask is coming off, and the awful man behind it may not be there anymore. As for the technical question you pose, Marc shows he has a few devious connections of his own...I expect he may have a friend who can figure out the administrative computing necessary to make the changes....

TP seasick? Given is much else t gat failed to turn his stomach, I'm not sure. But I agree with you about Marc's last line. Thanks for your thoughts and support...

    Turned Loose

Marc is trying, at least for Lee. I don't think it us faking it til he makes it, more like attempting something and trying to get it right... And knowing that he's doing it imperfectly. The final line he delivers sums it best, perhaps. Many thanks for continuing to read this story...and for your comments!

    Chapter 2

There's a very interesting story developing here. What is really going on in Alex's head? What's going to happen with Sasha and Callen? And can Tracy get over his 10-years-ago self? All that still to come. Looking forward to reading the next chapter....

    Turned Loose

TP is going to generate a whole slew of new titles! I'll have to keep a logbook, like they do on board ship. But the whole intern thing does seem like a big comedown, doesn't it?

    Chapter 1

Interesting setup. You paint the change in Alex and Tracy pretty well; but it's Jase who seems dangerous to me.

Thanks, tim. Glad you liked it. And I love the new title...
  20. Everything happened so fast after Christmas, he barely had time to keep track of the changes. The day after Christmas, he'd asked Marc to drive with him down to the dealer who sold him his car. He'd gotten as good a deal as he could hope for, and put the money into his one remaining bank account. Thirty-six hours later, the account had perhaps two hundred dollars left in it, but he owed nobody anything anymore. Except Marc and Lee, who had possibly saved his life. Marc and Lee, who point-blan

    Chapter 1

Thanks for this tale. It is as beautiful as it is tragic; as sweet as it is painful.
  22. How I remember the many Advent Calendars we have had...and the ugly sweaters I have endured. But this one is surely special, despite the tears and the hurt it brings. Thanks for this poignant snapshot of sorrow and healing.

    Young Tycoon

So much planning, and plotting. But in the meantime, what a very nice way to turn eighteen! It is terribly hard not to envy Chuck/Charles. He appears to be a great kid with a good heart, and a deep pocket. Perhaps the weirdos from St Loonies church of the hurt should pack up before they get embarrassed or further exposed...

    Chapter 22

I feel for poor Austin. He's caught up in some kind of vortex of feelings around Zac. He can't get free of his attraction, but he won't allow himself to be caught up in it, either. No matter what he does, he feels in conflict; and giving away part of his very private life must be incredibly hard for him. I am glad Zac didn't give up on Austin, and insisted on his coming to the meet in the morning. Can't wait for what happens next, even if it's just plain friendship.
  25. You are very kind in comparing these to that lovely Swiss poem. Winter, either approaching or present, can be personified so many ways, and we can be likened to it ourselves. Thanks for taking the time to think about these and respond to them. Keep warm! - P
