  1. I've only done two so far - do I qualify? Well, I think I like the second one the best. A response to prompt 511 (one of the orphan prompts given a second outing) blending robotics with Lewis Carroll. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/northie/amilate/2 Enjoy ...

    Catastrophe

Even knowing how the story ends doesn't lessen the gut-wrenching, appalled feelings. My eyes were glued to the page - I've read it before but Stefan's dread and the sickening violence just transfixed me. And, of course, the worst thing is - these dramas are played out regularly in the real world. Despite all the protections, social workers and others.
  3. I found this story completely absorbing, with the flow of conversation between characters being a particular highlight. The opening encounter made me grin. The fallout from a break-up is never pretty and people often feel the need to take sides. But to lie in that way to serve your own twisted agenda is unforgivable. I'm glad it had a happy ending although it was a far from straight road to get there.

    Led Home

What a wonderful pair of chapters! Dark and light - the contrast isn't forced upon us. Instead, the actions of the second flow on from the first. Wally does seem to attract guardian angels, doesn't he? I've given up trying to second guess you. I just read on in awe.
  5. I don't do resolutions at this time of year. It feels like I'm setting myself up to fail. I have some thoughts about the next few months but that's nothing to do with New Year- it's how I operate generally. If they happen, great. If they don't, then it's not the end of the world.
  6. ~~~~ Happy New Year! ~~~~ I'm looking forward to seeing where GA will take me next. I hope your new year will be just as fulfilling.

Thanks, Gary. Finding the right words to describe both sound and silence was a challenge. Glad you enjoyed them.

Your praise always means a lot. It's good that the sense of immediacy comes across - that was certainly one of the things I was trying for.

I'm happy they reflect something of your experience as a musician. Knowing things too well can be dangerous (or embarrassing) ...

Good! I'm glad they work for the non-musician as well. Thanks, Tim.

    Threatened

Praise, another job with money, and his shipmates looking out for him ... Things in one direction are improving. One of the dubious pleasures of the internet is not knowing who will see what - as our hero is re-discovering. Hmmm ... feeling sorry for him, again.
  13. Your rant isn't pathetic - far from it. Everyone needs to let off steam - why should you be an exception? Sunshine heals many things.

Parker Owens caused me to be created don't breathe waiting intensely while the silence echoes until the moment for applause erupts ~~~ counting always watching now preparing, then one glorious sound triumphantly bursts forth, golden shimmering perfection dying slowly away until nothing remains but breath ~~~ losing concentration mind wandering, eyes turning inward, ears hear without listening until lazy dull senses are snared, firing up, alert, 'Where are we? There, I think. That's

Thanks for a great holiday read. I really enjoyed it and loved the mutt - he was an important third character in their relationship.

    Story

A very enjoyable and sexy read for Boxing day. I like reading about unconventional relationships as long as they are consensual and reasonably equal. This story ticked all the boxes.
  18. Poor glittery. I've had Christmases where I've forgotten presents (500 mile round trip) and others where my brothers haven't talked to each other and I got duplicates ... Your hubby will appreciate his present the more in January.
  19. Happy Birthday, tim! I hope you have twice the presents! Best wishes, Anne

    Story

I had to read the ending several times to make sure I'd got it right. So many twists and turns in one short story.

    Story

What a fantastic treat. It made me tear up, smile and laugh - all within the space of what? 15 minutes? Not bad going ... And. of course Santa Claus exists ...
  23. Happy Birthday, Talonrider!
  24. Ahh ... All yours are very much still in progress.
  25. Indeed. Makes for an interesting combination. A piece of pure fun.
