interesting, but it would drive me bonkers (the partial color blindness would be on overload for me). now, using the Activity Stream is great and i've been using it for a while now and like it. thanks for looking for ways for everyone to use the site.

cats rule! but if i had to chose between a corgi or one of those "designer pocket-book dogs", give me a corgi. i'm not much of a dog person but i did love the Eskie we had.

oh i don't know. having the snake come out of the flush toilet in the house, like my grandparents did, seems more scary to me. or the time my grandfather got stuck in the outhouse when the bear decided it needed a rest and leaned against the door. both actually happened. it's the weirdness magnet that runs in my family

learning Aussie ways in language is challenging, but lots of fun.

part of what i see, is that the parents are trying to raise Oliver just like they raised Teddy. the problem with that is, Oliver is is own person, very different than Teddy, and there are 4 in the family not 3 and the dynamics are different. i also can see the parents seeing a bit of Ryder in Oliver and they have not idea how to deal with that aspect of Oliver and fear Oliver will follow Ryder into darkness.

corgi were originally bred to be herding dogs. specifically to be heelers to cattle. they nip at the "heels" of cattle to control them. loving the story!

and sometimes the voices are just as welcomed, being silent words on a screen.

time and sharing turn irritating shards of sand into pearls of memories. time doesn't heal all wounds, but the distance makes it bearable to look at. i always keep the thought: "if we never know pain, how will we recognize the joys that come" close to my heart.

too many thoughts come rushing at me to pick out the ones that would convey all my thoughts and memories that rushed at me. all hit me as raw and true in my own life, although not of my mother (she was too toxic of a person to leave me with nice memories) but to other loved people in my life. some of myself (the 1st one form the viewpoint of the being in the bed) to bring me to the memory pearls i have today. thank you for the journey on a Saturday night, Parker. masterfully done.

Letting Go (or the day my heart broke, just a little)

parenting is a juggling act. on the one hand, you want to convince your child they can do anything, while on the other hand, you want to scream at them "don't do that" every five minutes and keep them wrapped in bubble wrap. Kitt is right, it does get easier with time. -
in the 35 years i've been dealing with this, food options have sure changed. thank goodness! "real food" is so much better than the drugs the doctors push. 2 things i discovered that were not in the brochure, is that infections screw with your BS levels and diabetic need to discuss with the dentist about prophylactic antibiotics. diabetic are at a bigger risk for a heart infection after dental work.

it's the same here. i tried going to a "specialist in diabetes" to get educated about good eating habits. handed me a pamphlet and said "follow it". when i pointed i was coming for help because the pamphlet, although had recipes, they basically subbed rice for pasta. i pointed out i was allergic to rice, i was dumb founded when she basically said, sucks to be you. you and Mike have a good handle on things! last time i was in the hospital, the diabetic diet allowed 60 carbs each for breakfast, lunch and dinner and two snack of 15 carbs each. that is a total of 210 a day! most days i have less than half that number
