    Chapter 6

I’m trying not to look at Jim as a sad tragic character but every time he brings up Dane as his one and only, for all eternity love of his life, I can’t stop thinking he is a 14 year old.

    Chapter 1

According to the synopsis and reviews we don't know who was driving until the end, even though it appears cut and dry now. I'm looking forward to the mystery!

    Chapter 15

Thank you for the exciting, fast-paced story! This was a satisfying ending, I don't think anyone thought that Aleck and Grier would quietly fade into the background.
  4. CincyKris

    Chapter 14

I got my initial wish for Graviel, Kaye, and Roman to die. But I find that I'm a little sad that Graviel died, although very satisfied that he was the one to kill Kaye!
  5. CincyKris

    Chapter 13

I'm still not sure about letting Graviel live. Regardless of his deception, he purposely sent Kaye after Grier and Aleck. I have no reservations about killing Roman or Kaye.

    Chapter 12

There's the connection we've been waiting for!
  7. CincyKris

    Chapter 11

I don't think Aleck and Grier (and Keev) will be safe unless Graviel, Kaye, and Roman are dead.

    Chapter 10

I think this skill will be vital to their future!

    Chapter 9

I'm very lucky to only have to imagine what Aleck and Amelia went through, I hope that Aleck got his grandfather and Amelia's father good! I can see a little better now why he is so resistant to Graviel betraying him.

    Chapter 8

I wonder if the rat was one of Keev’s people, someone spying on Keev, or Aleck’s friends? Also, still waiting for someone to take out Kaye!

    Chapter 7

It appeared that Aleck was a company man before this "situation", but he has some secrets. Who are his Richmond friends?
  12. CincyKris

    Chapter 6

I think I'll like Keev, his father doesn't sound much better than Graviel, though.

    Chapter 5

I'll add Kaye to the currently two person list of people I hope die a painful death. I wonder how many agents are unable to think for themselves, blindly following Graviel.

    Chapter 3

OMG! I promise I didn't read ahead or remember that last scene from my previous reading years ago. My comment from the last chapter couldn't be more appropriate! Is Graviel someone who started out trying to do good and was corrupted over time? That still doesn't explain the hated, despicable use of monitors. He seems to feel guilt, but that doesn't excuse horrible behavior. As for Aleck, I hope Grier can talk some sense into him.

    Chapter 2

I realize the situation is complex, probably not black and white, but I despise Graviel and his use of monitors. He knows the physical and mental damage he is causing. He comes off like a paedophile, pimp, or cult leader. He recruits vulnerable young people, uses them to better his own interests, and then discards them when they are troublesome or lose their value.

    Chapter 1

Great first chapter! My initial impressions are that the Organization is up to some very bad things, and most of the operatives don't know anything about it. I have read this before, but must have done so very quickly, because I don't remember the details. It's not because I'm getting old. Really.

    Chapter 1

I didn't expect that he was a ghost until the waiter "ignored" Derrick in the dining car. Then I had a "Sixth Sense" moment and all the earlier clues strung together at once. I have to admit that a time travel possibility distracted me, I am currently following Paradox Lost and thought this might have been an early attempt at the genre! Great story, sad and sweet.

    Chapter 2

I don't think we need anymore chapters to know how this will turn out! Thanks for not caving in to yourself and giving them an HEA! It would ring false.

    Chapter 1

I don't get the feeling that either man I exactly thinking logically here! They are operating on instinct, desire, and passion. I suppose that works for a summer fling, but Tim has a ton of baggage and a lot to lose, the other more reluctant party, Sam, seems to be afraid of getting hurt. I'm looking forward to their poor decisions!
  20. This is a perfect, romantic, thoughtful short story. Libby Drew has a talent for writing emotionally complex characters, never falling into easy stereotypes. She tells us so much with very few actual details, and no lengthy exposition. But we know everything we need to know about Jamie. His journey has been a long hard one, but he is a survivor and has a lot of good karma banked.

    Chapter 1

I just read this again, I remember thoroughly enjoying it the first time. I don't know if I appreciated how well written it was. So emotional, but never cloying. So good!

    The Wrathful

I just reread this and love it more than the first time! Here is my theory: Brendan came to Ft. Myers looking for Dennis, who had broken off contact. He developed a relationship with Wade to try to find his brother. Brendan paid "a thousand dollars worth of background checks" and burned them, along with Dennis' letters to him. He was erasing tracks that could lead back to him. But he did not kill Wade. I think Jeff killed Wade, not that I want him arrested. Where is Dennis? Is he still alive? I hope for Brendan that he is, but I doubt it. I think Wade killed him in a fit of jealous rage. What was Jeff's role? Why did Brendan leave so suddenly, without knowing what happened to Dennis? This was a great short story! Would it work as a multi-chapter mystery? Sure! But it's also wonderful as is.

    Chapter 3 S1

There would absolutely have been benefits paid to the parents of a soldier killed in action. The daughter's death would have been less cut and dry. If the drunk, wrong-way driver had any insurance, the parents would have been paid the settlement. If he was uninsured, the parents would have had to sue the driver's survivors in civil court. That being said, I agree that the lack of an academic scholarship seems unusual. I'm enjoying the story and am willing to overlook these unrealistic details. If I can accept that Devin is a bear, I guess I can live with small inconsistencies. But I will add that the more realistic an author makes their fantasies, the more involved the reader tend to be.
  24. I found Matthew to be confounding. I wonder why on earth Harry was attracted to such a strange, repressed man. I have to say, reading a story set in a time when the vast majority of 30-50 year old men were closeted, recently out, and married or divorced from women is jarring, since I'm more used to stories about openly gay men. There is such a clandestine, stifling feel to these men. Other than Gordon. There is nothing stifling about Gordon!
  25. I'm assuming this is set in the mid to late nineties (after online dating, which was referenced, but before widespread cellphone use, or he would have had Carl's number instantly). The use of P.O. boxes, letters, notes and patience dictated the pace of their early relationship. I doubt many people would allow this kind of elongated back and forth today. I can't say I understand what he saw in Carl, and I'm definitely glad to see him gone!
