  1. Ok, my yard of weeds looks lovely now, I'm all showered and clean, now I've got some questions that James won't answer. Why has Leander been keeping this secret from Luke, since he was pretty sure Elaine was targeting Len. Luke absolutely has to share this with Dad, not sharing could be fatal! Why was Luke the favorite of the cult mom when he was the bastard child of her husband? Is Duke a half or full brother? Is Josh a half or full brother? If Elaine didn't know about the beating, will she be mad? Not care? Be happy?
  2. 75°!!! Where in Ohio are you? I'm in Cincinnati and it's been in the 90's all week. How's your backyard grill action? Cocktails? I'm might need to come for a visit.
  3. Well, hell!!!! This complicates matters! I have to think about this while I go mow my grass!
  4. Even though I know the outcome of the hatching, I am still experiencing the tension along with the candidates!
  5. I wonder how much Len knows about Elaine, the lying, evil, scam artist. If she brought her son to hang out, then Leander and Duke also know him. What is Elaine's relationship with the other evil witch?
  6. I'm glad that Luke is on better terms with his dad, but unless (hopefully until) he ditches Elaine, I have no respect for the man. She is a deal breaker for me. Sad news for Leander, but he seems determined to walk again. He's also going to need that determination to deal with his criminally insane family. I wonder where Duke drove off to? So, you ran out of "L" names and now you are going with rhyming names? Good luck with "Leander" !
  7. So Mary confirmed that she arranged for the cousins beating Leander, that Clyde set the fire for insurance money, and that she knew about her husband raping her son! All she got was a backhand, she deserves so much more. I can see some prickly moments ahead between Duke and Luke, with Leander peacekeeping. Unfortunately, the evil cult will not be leaving town anytime soon, they all need to watch their backs.
  8. I have to admit I have no understanding of people who choose to stay with abusive cults, even though they have opportunities to leave. And yet it happens in real life. I sympathise with the victims, but admit to being a little judgemental. They could have left, they did not. They frequently end up dead.
  9. I feel sympathy for Leander, but he has to decide who is in charge of his own life. Right now, not him! I have this chapter an angry emoji, due to Elaine getting away with murder (not literally, although we don't know what happened to her husband). I'm mad at Len, for putting this bitch he just met ahead of his son. Normally, I would just hope his character gets what he deserves, but that would also hurt Luke.
  10. I just found a bunch of cats, dogs, and few rodents! Does anyone actually use them to vacuum?
  11. I was surprised to see a confrontation with Harold so soon, I wonder if there was a break in the investigation? I am looking forward to thanksgiving and Christmas with the pack. I hope your stressful situation imroves! Now, I have to search the web for a video of a raccoon riding a roomba!
  12. Good old Dolores Umbridge has succeeded in turning Luke's dad against him, which he will regret one day. I hope he comes to his senses and chooses his son over a woman he has known for about a month.
  13. The violent cult leader is dead! It sounds like Clyde will be a much better family leader. I want to feel sympathy for his mom, but that woman allowed a man to physically abuse and terrorize her children. She chose to not teach her children to read and write. I feel sympathy for Leander, who loves his mother.
  14. I think I called it right a couple of chapters earlier. Leander was raised in a cult, with a violent leader and ignorant followers ready to do his bidding. It's going to come down to a decision for Leander that he is not ready to make, yet. Live his own life or continue to live his father's life. Get married to another traveller and raise a bunch of uneducated, bigoted, minions.
  15. When Elaine said: Don't you think you should have put some clothes on, young Luke?" Elaine piped up. I instantly thought of her as Delores Umbridge from Harry Potter!
  16. I admit I'm absolutely horrified that Leander (and presumably his siblings) were not taught to read and write, or even basic math. Is this normal for Romani in England? Is it legal? I think it's unbelievably selfish, those children are completely unprepared to survive outside the family, I guess that's the point! They are practically prisoners of a cult!
  17. For the record, this U.S. Midwesterner has gotten all your "Britishisms" , no confusion here. I love Aldi. I did not know about Czech Bud, but it sounds typical for a 19th century business mogul to not care about copyrights. I'm wondering how Luke plans on finding the right caravan without alerting all the other fair people. He doesn't want to do the same thing his middle school art teacher did!
  18. I have just started reading this series yesterday again (I read the first two chapters then got sidetracked by several of my followed stories). I'm glad I came back to it! I think that Elaine has completely overstepped. I also don't think that she is necessarily a bad person, it's just how she is in her late middle-aged point in her life. But she could not have read the room any worse than she has done. I don't doubt that her son hides in his room, she is a lot.
  19. I'm all caught up now! So far, this is my favorite of the series! I may have been a tiny bit negative towards Kalian in the first book, ok I hated his weakling, coward little guts! I love strong, badass Kalian, he still has a shiny heart of gold. I think the navy is in for stormy seas! As for Wren's resurrection, obviously his sunny personality was not a side effect of becoming a monster, it was just Wren being Wren. I love Eira, I'm hoping that Kalian and Talon adopt a bunch of weirdly wonderful orphans by the end of the series.
  20. All in all, I think Alec handled things well. He is having the awareness that he needs to break free of his mother's hold on his mental health, he has been allowing her to take up space in his head and it's time to evict her. As to his dad's financial situation, he may have taken out a second mortgage. How much money did she give to her church?

    Chapter 6

Sounds like the rescue is going to be rousing good fun!

    Chapter 6

I feel a little more confident about my guesses after the previous chapter. If Huntington gave a laptop with devastating evidence against him to Elijah's parents -- firstly, he's an idiot (why not a really good safe?), secondly, if the parents hid it, he would have tortured them (or grabbed Elijah for leverage) rather than just shooting them. There is another player in this game! I'm on the bandwagon for The Sentinels to make an appearance. Not just because I want to see a meeting between Sebastian and Kage (almost too much Alpha hotness to handle), but they really need to investigate this huge lead.

    Chapter 98

It's no wonder that Garjah doesn't think Essell can take care of himself! In Essell's defense, he didn't leave the house until the intruders arrived. The jungle is a better option than confronting the intruders. We get to see Ases shift and Bouncer hunt!!!! We're they under surveillance or did Timok tip them off? I hope for Garjah's sake that Timok is on their side.

    Chapter 30: Drop

I'm starting to feel ...... not quite sorry......maybe slightly empathetic towards Henry. His toxic wife dominated his life and drove away any hope of friends or connection to his son. But, he allowed it to happen. At any point, he could have stood up to her. Hell, he could have been only half a weasel and gone behind her back to reestablish connections. I do know that an older (60's?) man with no friends and no other family to care about him Is sad. Is he redeemable, is he willing to change his entire way of thinking? Only Alec and Henry can figure that out. Thumbs up to Finn for being a good boyfriend, and to River for being the best friend ever!

    Chapter 5

I was surprised that @travlbugwas the first commenter to write the same thought I had. Why shoot first instead of interrogating? The same could be asked of the parents' murder, there was no evidence of torture. If they care so much about the laptop, they are going about finding it in a very odd way. Could there be more than one group doing the searching/killing (besides Kage and his boss)?
