  1. Seth Wow. I can't believe it. I mean I can believe it because Art and I have been sort of together for a couple months now. But him asking his dads if ‘his boyfriend Seth' can go to Italy with them over Christmas break, that's what's hard to believe. I'm his boyfriend. That feels so good just thinking it. When I came to Brumfeld I was hoping to even get one good friend. I have 6, one of which is a REALLY good one. I just hope my parents are OK with it. They like Art's dads, so hopefully. Pl
  2. Sounds like I did a pretty good job wrapping up this aspect of the story. I don't think I mention Sam and a therapist, but like you said, we can assume it happens off screen.
  3. True in both cases.
  4. At least it was just a fictional life.
  5. Happy is my middle name. OK, not really.
  6. No carry over attitude expected.
  7. I don’t think so. Just a few: Sam: Fuck you, asshole! Bobby: Drop dead, you butthead! Sam: Can we go now?
  8. Better late than never. Although I like writing court scenes, I hadn’t done much of that when this was first written. I knew he’d be going away for a long time regardless, so the plea agreement made sense. Seth got in well and his parents came around quickly.
  9. Definitely a kind of mixed emotions chapter.
  10. True. He wasn't a very good person, but he was far from the worst. At least he wasn't squashed by a semi trailer 🙂
  11. Steven I'm thinking that after dad has his hearing with the feds, he might get moved to a federal facility, who knows where. Since he's still reasonably local, if I want to go confront him, now is the time. This weekend I'll take a trip to the jail to visit him. The drive to Forest State Penitentiary isn't a short one, almost 90 minutes, but this is a one-time deal so I can handle it. Saturday rolls around and I visit the prison. After going through what seems like 75 levels of securit
  12. Things definitely went well for the good guys in this chapter, and the apparently bad guys that aren't really bad. Leon steps up quite a bit in upcoming chapters before he takes a back seat for a while. I'd said it before; Leon is a good guy.
  13. Thanks. I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but you’re right.
  14. I did make Art’s dads pretty nice. Yes, Seth has been sheltered.
  15. I had sleepovers and sleepouts, but the messing around never happened. Otherwise, similar childhoods.
  16. No argument here.
  17. I wish I had some of those days….
  18. FYI, chapter 17 was the last part of the original posting. 18-20 were a sequel, but I combined them here. So, 4 to go.
  19. Yep, this is a good bunch.
  20. All true. I’d say it all went pretty well.
  21. I’m not even going to ask what you might want the dirty underwear for! He was such a drunk, I can believe that.
  22. Art "Arturo. Posso avere un momento (May I have a moment?)" "Excuse me guys, I'll be right back..." "Before we head out to get your friends what they need for the night, you should discuss the sleeping arrangements. They can share your room, although a few of them would need to sleep on the floor, which is not very fair. Or your room and the 2 guest rooms, which sort of defeats the purpose of a sleepover, being all separated. Or finally in the playroom. That way you all sleep on t
  23. We’ll definitely see more of Gavin and Ted. Not to mention see if your prediction about Leon comes true. Jeff is a slow learner, but this was a strong message. Will dad be able to work that magic? True, but Grandma has seen way too much of Gavin. Her rose colored glasses don’t lighten very quickly.
  24. Thanks. I guess unpredictable is good. Happy binging. When you get caught up, there will be 5 more chapters, the next coming tomorrow.
