I collect postcards too. Even those that I buy for myself when I travel somewhere. Because either they can revive my memories or as you've said, one can see what's in there...
But what sort of post is that - talking about postcards collecting and not sharing the address!
Well according to wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_imprisonment_in_Norway it is theoretically possible to get a life inprisonment in Norway. So let's wait and see for the trial.
It might not be a good place here to talk about it but I feel the need to express my deep feelings for the Norwegian people who suffered a terrorist attack as nasty as many others before, be it New York 2001, Madrid, London or Stockholm last year. I don't understand why people do things like that but I'm sure we (as in the "euro-american civilisation circle") will survive. My thoughts are in Norway, I hope its people will go through this complicated and painful time with the inner calm like I know them.
I guess it doesn't matter if they are true hiphop/rap or not if the majority of people that listen to their songs thinks they are. The consumers' perception is what matters.
I'm soooo envious. I love my tea too much. And sometimes I need coffee to keep me up.
Earl Grey!!!!! I'm on Twinnings Earl Grey, almost on a daily basis. I usually have one big (cca 2 litres) kettle/jug, but that is usually all. Then I'm trying to drink something else like mineral water or mint tea or fruit tea or something, just to avoid another load of black tea.
Schalke 04? ewwww... if a club uniform from Germany, then only Bayern München! (sorry for the off-topic)
How come there isn't any OFFICIAL GA get-together organized?
Mark, anytime you need to overcome a low, we are here for you. Don't be shy. If you need somebody, you can always reach us (I'm not talking just about me, there are plenty of people that give out free e-hugs ).
Moreover, there's this healing process, called GA meet, which has a lot of beneficial impacts on shy people, Stuart and Nephy could tell you. They were scared but GA meets are magic.
I think people are not specifically looking for democracy. They are looking for prosperity, easy life, comfort. And out of all the regimes in the world, the democratic ones managed to secure that for their peoples most. So people want democracy because they hope it will bring them the same level of life that they can see in the Western countries.
Because the other option is a very expensive and dangerous journey to the West, life of an immigrant that is uninvited, unwelcome and frowned upon.
And if you weren't talking about the Third world but "First world", then the answer is similar - it's the regime that secured them their comfortable life. So they want to be assured they're living in a democracy because that means their life as they know it will continue. The diferences between various notions of democracy or regimes are under their level of recognition, as are many economic or other terms.
not that I could attend, I'd just like to mention that two weeks in advance is too late for people to book flight tickets and stuff so only people from near surroundings of Vancouver can actually attend...
I'm all for a picnic and the Notting Hill Carnaval on Sunday!
OK, how do we organize this? We should make a list of events and who is attending when so that we know how many seats book and stuff. It also depends what everyone expects from it - to get to know new people? We could do a Saturday picnic (but since for example me and Westie already have a programme for Saturday evening, we wouldn't attend to anything in the eve I guess) but I'd go to watch the Carnaval on Sunday...
Hopefully it will spread around... Europe is said to be very gay tolerant - but the major countries still didn't budge.
Off-topic: ANDY! who's the hottie in your signature? :-o
