I streamed it on Amazon Prime some time ago. Not in the league with Brokeback Mountain, but pretty good for the genre.

He first appeared in Season 6 of MASH starting in fall 1977 or more than 40 years ago. I remember it well. He was so stuffy and prim.

I'm still hoping for them to take that trip to the Canary Islands, Spain and ending up in Paris sometime in the not too distant future... -

Ozzie's family is as supportive as CJ's. Nicely done segment in Beantown! -
Well maybe not some of your readers, but to a family that places so much on family loyalty!!!

I keep coming back to the fact that Elizabeth said on the phone "take him out" and that might mean she was talking about Alex's father.... More please! P.S. And has anyone thought to look out for JJ's security in NY...what if he is kidnapped as a hostage?

Tech Tuesday - Settings, Emails and Profiles
Daddydavek commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors Archive
I guess I'm more like Myr than I thought. I've clicked and explored all these options several times.....except that my page has all those tabs filled with drivel about me.... -
Edward, I knew you were bent, but that is ridiculous! Of all the Harry Chapin songs you picked the one that drives me crazy.

Over The Rainbow • Part IV
Daddydavek commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Over The Rainbow • Part IV
The chapter covers so much I hardly know where to begin, but first Brett's reaction; I can relate! And for all the reasons mentioned above, but also because it's a parent's job to be worried about their children, especially when taking such a big step. The gay bar scene with Ozzie was interesting but I didn't see where it advanced the story or revealed anything new....except the video of men down under was great. Chipper's visit and the news about Harley was tantalizing. The get together for the coach was interesting and do we have another potential cast member? The fortieth birthday party was exceptionally well done with great music and camaraderie. Now I have to wait another week for more.... -
Anthology Flashback: 2007 Annual - The Road Not Taken
Daddydavek commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Just a note of explanation to anyone not on site prior to January 2011: This flashback is from 2007. The reason each of the stories show they were posted on January 8, 2011 is because that was about when the site underwent a big software update and everything had to be restored into the new format. -
Anthology Flashback: 2007 Annual - The Road Not Taken

I can unequivocally state that Circumnavigation does not take perseverance, but it does take a chunk of time. Once you get started and into it, you will find yourself making time for it whenever you can. It is a magnum opus that this site is lucky to have and is treasured. -
A lot depends on the storyteller's ability to keep it real, literally. Much of fantasy is so disorganized and dare I say 'sloppy'? A good story told well will always keep me going and there are lots of stories that I love including the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. Roger Zelazny's Amber series is another and that has some surprisingly unexpected twists and turns that are a bit beyond belief but the tales are so well told that you get drawn into them. I'm retired and have lots of books on my kindle that I haven't read as I buy them almost daily. So my point is, that a story has to draw me in and have decent writing to keep and hold my attention, whether it be fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, action adventure or even a gay romance in any genre. Otherwise, I will put it down and may or may not come back to it. I'm old, I'm picky, so there!

In a politically polarized environment such as exists today, I'm not surprised that two people starting a personal relationship discuss in depth their political thoughts and feelings. Whether I agree with them is not important, it's whether they find common ground and common beliefs that are important to their characters and development. So I recommend anyone who is less than sympathetic to the beliefs of the characters to skim those parts as some have noted. However, if you take the time to read them, you might begin to understand where they are coming from and that they are entitled to their opinions as they have thought about it and aren't just spouting one party line or the other.

Good to get another chapter and I have to say, the ball drop left an imprint on more than the glass.

Sabrina is from Bertie's branch and why do I expect she's even worse than imagined? Will stood up to Nana and did so without causing a melt down. I still don't trust Wade's scheming mother and it appears she knows something she has not shared. Somehow "Danger, danger Will Robinson" is echoing in my head. P.S. Thanks for the Valentine's present.

Over The Rainbow • Part III
Daddydavek commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Over The Rainbow • Part III
Loved the chapter, especially loved the ending. My only quibble was the line about sucking the air out of the city...it was most of the country! -
I've always believed writers should write about what they know and everyone should know their hometown. Having said that, if you write about another locale, please do your research as someone will always be willing to take offense that you got it wrong. I've seen lot's of writers use a fictional locale because they don't want to identify places that someone might want to check out....and be disappointed. If you take artistic liberties with locales, it might be best to add a chapter note alerting everyone.

Yup! I have Google Earth Pro on my desktop and it does have street view as I just checked out the Sydney Opera house and the Bridge as well. -
