This year I wouldn't be denied. It was All Hallows Eve and the magic to transform and pass through the veil between worlds would be mine. No matter how many times my mother warned me, I just had to see the human realm for myself.

When an otherwordly anomaly swallows Times Square on April 13 of 2018, New Yorkers all over the city are forced to confront a reality that is rapidly collapsing on itself. Each chapter of this multigenre anthology follows a different character at different points in time during an ongoing Apocalypse.

Vanus Kaufman has diamond eyes; everyone thinks he's a daemon. Three days before he is to turn eighteen and leave the orphanage, he discovers he is the heir to a powerful dynasty. In the blink of an eye, he finds himself surrounded by wealth, fame, and power beyond anything he could imagine. But even for a powerful magician the city of Vaylin is a dangerous and corrupt place. If Vanus wants to keep what is his, he will have to fight for it.

A little surreal. Hamilton Gode is an anti-hero, Zachary and Lowerstoff are pretty much gay!
