Poor Man's Son is the eleventh story in the CAP Saga. The story takes place in 2000, with Gathan Hayes and Will Schluter as our narrators. Many of the characters in this story were introduced in “Chronicles of an Academic Predator,” “1968,” “The Land Whore,” “Be Rad,” “Man in Motion,” “A Summer Love,” “If It Fits,” “Bloodlines,” “The Box,” and "Millennium."

Devon McGee meets Colin Wentworth and begins working with him. Colin is a puzzle. Devon is trusted immediately and given a task to restore Colin's Ancestral home. Then puzzles begin to cause Devon to wonder about his employer. Colin has a past and Devon is and was not prepared for what he finds out.

Danni Aarmodt is exiled to Planet Redemption, a penal planet a hundred years away from Earth. Frozen for the trip, he wakes up on a new planet in Colony 12. This introduces Jake, the narrator of Moorpark Palms, a funny book of stories about a small Los Angeles apartment building in the 1990s. Jake & Conor is a light little romance, once intertwined with the longer book. I broke it out because it distracted from the apartment stories.

A timeless spirit moves from host to host demanding vengeance for the innocent who are killed. The only problem is that wasn't it's true purpose.
