A Wednesday Brief Holiday Short Story

A quiet, solitude life without stress, commitment or responsibility is all Ed wants. But when his new neighbors move in next door, it all seems to have come to an end. If you’ve ever been confused by the British monetary system, then this explanation, a judicious balance of truth and lies, probably won’t help.

A romance suggested by the song "Waltzing with Bears," a song by Dale Marxen adapted from the Dr. Seuss song of the same name. Although the "present day" of the story is 2011, the events related in it take place in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

The plan was simple: survive high school and get the hell out of his hometown.
